“Peaceful stay, beautiful views...”
Reviewed 29 July 2012

Wasn't quite sure what to expect when we drove up the long road especially after the reviews I had read. We had rafted that day and were ready to relax. We were not sure where to go when we arrived and went to the wrong house where no one answered. We then walked to the restaurant and were told by the manager to go to bungalow which was below the original house we went to. Our peaceful night started then when Melanie welcomed us into the house and showed us around. It is a very old fashioned homey type of place, so do not expect the amenities of a hotel. There were fresh baked cookies and a very comfortable front porch overlooking the most beautiful hills. So quiet and the air was so clean and fresh. The rooms are very clean and simple, and the beds were comfortable. We walked to their restaurant and had a great time sitting at the bar getting to know the manager. I had a most delicious pizza that is made fresh on site and my sons had what they described as the most delicious hamburgers they have ever eaten. The meat is from cows that they raise on the farm and spend their lives in the pastures eating grass. After dinner, we wandered around the different barns and had a blast visiting with a variety of animals and some very friendly cats.

Melanie cooked us a great breakfast and was extremely gracious. If you are looking for a very laid back, relaxing experience, Warfield is the place for you. Slow down and enjoy the breathtaking scenery!

Room Tip: I would recommend the bedroom on the second floor in the bungalow. It has its own bathroom. Not su...

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Warfield House Inn / Valley View Farm this past weekend. We were greeted by Melanie with homemade cookies; the room was very comfortable; we enjoyed hiking around the farm property, feeding the animals, having an excellent dinner at their restaurant, and breakfast cooked for us in the morning. The view of the hills is very relaxing. We would definitely go back again.

No one to check us in.
No one to show us our rooms.
No one to show us keypad codes for the rooms ( they remained unlocked for the weekend.)
No beds made, nor towels changed.
Abrasive interruptions at the breakfast table.
Discrepancies on the bill.
No place cards, seating arrangement at the reception, even after the bride and groom arrived.
An initial call in to the GM was promised a review and fast action. (14 days ago.)
Stayed tuned- will update.

I have read all the bad reviews of the Warfield, but as a corporate planner I have to say that my wedding experience at the Warfield was top notch. The bad reviews are in the past. The new manager Jerry has everything in line and running smoothly. And Melanie the Wedding Coordinator, was totally on her game throughout my entire weekend and during the planning. She was always very responsive and super helpful in recommending vendors, answering questions or helping a bride have a laugh to relieve stress. She has an uncanny sense of knowing when you need her and was always right there during the reception. There was not one time during our stay that my I felt that the entire staff was not thrilled to have us. Every person at the Warfield helped me create a wedding experience that was amazing. We had out of town guests, tons of children and they were flexible on late and early check in's, the rooms were spotless and well appointed, the food for our rehearsal dinner was wonderful, and I had special requests all the way..all wishes were happily granted and Jerry the Manager also came in with a special toast for us. We also had a Sunday breakfast which was so delicious and perfectly on time. Melanie was there always to make sure everything was just right and to answer any questions. Even the farm manager brought out the horses and haywagon and gave our guests a ride before pictures. We all went up to the Hawk's Nest bar upstairs after the wedding, ate some late night pizza (AMAZING..even my italian Uncle was impressed) and we sang karoke until late. The bartender's gave us a special toast upstairs as well and really made us feel like we were part of the Warfield family. The Warfield really has it all, great location, great prices, and great staff!! We will be up for pizza and karoke as soon as we come back for our honeymoon.

Room Tip: I had the attic suite in the Main house...my Mom was in the room beside me. They were beautiful and...

We stayed in a main house and love it! Beautiful views from the front terrace, very scenic and peaceful. It is a big property with plenty of space just to take a walk around enjoying fresh air. We had omelet for breakfast made from 100% natural eggs picked in a henhouse just 50 steps way. Overall, had very pleasant experience, glad we booked.

If you want someplace quiet and interesting, this may be for you. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. I think the house is very quiet anyway, but I was the only guest on two of the three nights I stayed, so that impression may not be accurate.

The rooms are also very clean and the linens fresh. I had a top floor room with stunning views. The sun in the windows in the morning was a wonderful way to wake up, and the air is bracingly fresh. The water pressure in the shower could have been more forceful, but it was certainly more than adequate. Ample amenities--extra pillows, towels, blankets, hair dryer, etc. The wifi works just fine. I didn't try the TV in the common room.

I can't comment on the restaurant on the property as it was not open, but Hillary, the lovely innkeeper, makes a great breakfast.

The property is great for exploring--both on the farm with the animals and trails and, for the hardy, down (and back up) the hill to Avery's General Store.

The surrounding area has lots of interesting towns and wayside stops.

Room Tip: If you don't mind stairs, ask for Room 6 or 7. They are at the top of the house and have the be...
