Now, I do not eat anything from the water, but I found this so fascinating to watch! You can park for free and watch the boats coming in for hours unloading fish. If you are lucky, you may even get invited in to see the inside of the fishery :) Well worth the time!

Spent two weeks in New England and had lots of clam chowder. Chatham Pier and Fish Market was the best by far!!! Tender clams and favorful broth. I am still dreaming about it. Do they ship?!! The boats arriving around lunchtime are super fun to watch unload with the day's catch. Seals around hoping for a treat. Great visit for kids.

My son and I stopped here in hopes of seeing seals. And that WE DID!! It was the coolest thing ever! We got there around 11:30am, while the boats were coming in to unload the Smooth Dogfish Sharks that they catch. There were seals everywhere. And I can't believe how many Dogfish Sharks they catch daily. Unbelievable! You can watch them load them up. Very cool and great for adults and kids.

Wow, what a find! We decided to check it out on our way out of cape cod. Parked a few blocks away in front of a private home as everyone else was doing. Walked to the second floor and enjoyed the view as fishermen's boats brought in the days catch and unloaded it. The birds and seals circling, looking for food. Our older boys, 4 and 8, were mesmerized for a good half and hour before we had to drag them out so we could drive on. Educational and fun. Honestly one of the highlights of our trip.

No way my son would eat here because of the strong fish smell but we sure had fun watching the boats bring in their day's catch. You can watch them from the upper deck as they wash and load their catch into a metal elevator contraption. But the coolest thing to watch is the seals hanging out waiting for some scraps! We saw paddle boarders, seagulls, seals, boats and fishermen. You can just stay as long as you want and watch. There are a lot of steps. You can buy chowder and fresh seafood there but we did not. It is not far from the main street in Chatham and definitely worth the stop.
