“A wonderful experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 May 2014

I was looking for a place to stay on the Cape, and happened to find a great deal for the Pleasant Bay Village Resort. I'm so glad I took it! The rooms are WONDERFUL, the staff courteous and helpful, and the grounds are magnificent (even in mid-October)! I hope to stay here again. This was, without question, one of the best places I've ever stayed on vacation.

Green Features: This was the "greenest" place I've ever stayed. We were very impressed by all the steps Pleasant Bay Village took to be eco-friendly.

My family stayed at Pleasant Bay for a wedding weekend a couple of weeks after the property opened for the season. We stayed in a 2-BR suite that was extremely spacious, with 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, living area, dining area, porch and deck. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the rooms are well-maintained and very clean. The property is very pretty, with a koi pond and paths to explore. The lobby serves fresh coffee every morning. They also had a selection of baked goods, but I would recommend going elsewhere for breakfast. The only reason I am giving Pleasant Bay 4 stars instead of 5 is that the property is fairly far away from Chatham's attractions, including Main Street and the water. But overall, we had a great stay. I'd definitely recommend Pleasant Bay, especially for families.

We chose Pleasant Bay Village based on the outstanding reviews this hotel/motel gets. It provides the services of a hotel, but it's layout is like that a motel. It has lots of little lights, fountains, waterfalls, walkways and bushes which make for a great romantic getaway... this is the hotel we stayed in when I proposed to my fiancee. Our room was big with a nice clean bathroom. We had a little outside terrace that had 2 chairs overlooking a little garden. Our room had its own little walkway... again a very cozy, intimate and romantic place.Service included turn down service ... not to mention Goodiva chocolates, which made our evenings even better. Our room was quiet, we never heard neighbors or street noise. [yet our room was the set of rooms closest to the main road].

The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The front desk area also had a couch with magazines to read, a laptop to access for email, and tea and coffee, all complimentary. The pool is SUPER nice, and fairly big. The jacuzzi is nice too. The only critique we have for this hotel is that the pool closes at 9pm... On a romantic getaway, one would like to use the pool/jacuzzi later on.

We highly recommend staying at the Pleasant Bay Village for an unforgettable Cape Cod experience. Chatham is a great little sea town.. make sure to grab your breakfast at Sandi's Diner where you will be treated like a long time Cape Cod local.. it is out of a movie!

Our stay was in mid-July. We could easily customize the temperature in our room.

Room Tip: We had a deluxe ensuite room.

The landscaping, waterflows, and oriental theme are the foundation to this lovely spot tucked up on a hill in North Chatham. Our secluded two-bedroom half-cottage was spacious and warm with an enclosed front porch and back deck. We did not eat at the restaurant because our well-appointed kitchen and dining area invited our own creations. Other family members joined us one evening as the space easily fits 8. Shopping is 5 minutes away. There is a hiking trail, golf course, and public beach nearby. Even on an October evening, the hot tub was soothing. The off-season rate significantly beats comparable accommodations in Brewster for two separate rooms. So if you want a relaxing and intimate place to hide for a weekend with friends and family, this is the spot. P.S. If you want to grill, bring your charcoal for the Weber...and a bag of ice.

Green Features: Recycling and linen conservation were observed. The other ecofriendly practices were there but not as obvious.

The Village consists of an outdoor pool, a landry mat (very handy to have when you are on the road) in a beautiful park. My only complaint was that they make you pay for breakfast on the weekend. We are not big breakfast eaters - a little cereal, a bun and coffee is enough. When we sat down for breakfast it took forever to be served. I think that they should just have a self-service, easy breakfast - which they usually have during the week. The room we had was big and brand new. We loved our stay here. Chatham is a beautiful town and fun to talk around during the day.

Stayed in 328 around the backside of the property. Since it was off-season, it was very quiet. I agree with others that there was a musty smell. Since my stay was only one night, I didn't get to use the kitchenette - but it is a nice feature. The bathroom was very spacious and nice.

It is a little ways out of town, but for one night was a great deal.

We stayed in Room 114 for three nights which was clean and in good repair. However, the smell of mustiness was overwhelming. We asked the front desk if they could do something about it. They put some sort of machine in the room that was supposed to take the smell away but it didn't work. In fact, after we got home I noticed that the luggage was musty. I had to spray everything with Lysol. the staff was fine and willing to talk about the area. The grounds are beautiful and it is very quiet; very relaxing. I would like to stay there again but I just don't want to deal with the mustiness again. Also, I wish they had a coffeepot in the room. Chatham, itself, is charming and the two restaurants we visited were very good. I sort of recommend PBV, but make sure your room is not musty.

Room Tip: Room 114 is very musty.
