“A very nice place”
Reviewed 27 August 2014

We stayed 4 days at Pleasant Bay Village in August 2014. The staff is very welcoming and nice, always here to give good advice and to help. The hotel is ideally situated between Chatham and Orleans. The pool is great and the garden of the hotel very very nice as well. Our room was big and was clean, a bit dark because of all the trees in front of the door but we were nevertheless very pleased with our choice. If we go back to Cape Cod one day, we will go back to Pleasant Bay village no doubt.

We were on the Cape for a wedding in June and needed one more day (to recuperate, after the all night party) before heading back to Boston. Based on reviews I booked us here for one night and was so pleased. Everyone was so welcoming, professional and nice. Recommendations given for our dinner in town were spot-on. We stayed in room #401 by the pond. The gardens are spectacular, the sound of falling water in the pond was soothing and it was very quiet. Our room was lovely: clean, comfortable and just the right size. Having in room coffee the next morning was very great; I took my cup out and sat in the provided chairs by the pond enjoying the Koi, birds and flowers. We had breakfast there later that morning and it was nice as well. Should also mention that we used the washer/dryer available for guests and that was a nice surprise, since it was half way through our trip and being able to have clean clothes for the second half was great. This is a lovely place and we'd absolutely stay there again.

Room Tip: Would highly recommend the rooms by the pond, especially #401, since it is lovely and away from the...

Pleasant Bay Village is like a nest. It is on the busy main road in Chatham but the grounds are so lush and the place so peaceful, it's easy to forget you didn't have to hike through a forest to get there.
The people who host you are wonderful; friendly and knowledgeable about things like beating the summer Cape crowds to get to the beach or to a good restaurant. Their own restaurant has great breakfasts, including one that no one should pass by: blueberry pancakes with fresh berries the size of gumballs!
The rooms are snug and comfortable. The old window AC units can be noisy, though. And the best ocean beach is about five miles away.
The owners are making continuing efforts to be an ever-more sustainable facility. I recommend this place to all.

Green Features: Always lowering their carbon footprint and consumption of resources like fresh water.

The four of us stayed here August 11 for 2 nights. We had a very enjoyable stay in an extra deluxe room with two queen beds, which was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was extra but very good. The conversations we had with the waitresses from Bulgaria were very enjoyable. The beautiful landscaping is a very nice touch.

I've been vacationing at Pleasant Bay Village since I was a teen. My family and I
have been staying there for 45 years!

They used to keep our beach umbrella and chairs so we wouldn't have to lug them
back and forth from NJ to the Cape every year. We've watched the boys grow
up with us, and enjoyed knowing the staff and sharing our lives with them.

Wonderful place, wonderful vacation spot, and wonderful people.!

Just returned from a 5 day stay at Pleasant Bay Village, and I can’t say enough nice things about it.

The front desk staff could not be nicer or more accommodating. We came with a large quantity of special food, and the room fridge was too small, so they gave us a second, as well as allowed us to keep stuff in their freezer. When we went to the beach, they even provided us with beach chairs. They also offered us umbrellas on a rainy day. They were always assisting us with sightseeing ideas and directions. Now that’s taking care of your guests! It is clear that this place is a labor of love to these people.

The grounds are meticulously sculptured, and exude a serene atmosphere that we greatly enjoyed. Just walking around and seeing the grounds was enjoyable.

Our room was large and well appointed. The whole place is spotless and well maintained.

The pool area was just redone and is beautiful. Great hot tub.

The breakfast restaurant was really charming.

Our overall feeling was that we were in a cozy B&B.

I would highly recommend staying here for anyone wanting a beautiful, family friendly, cozy, relaxing, country (not city) resort. We would definitely return. No other place we saw even came close to this place (well, maybe the ritzy joint just down the road, but the cheapest room there began at $650/night).

And to the whole front desk staff (John, Noah, Dan, Josh, Judy, etc) – thanks for a most pleasant stay. We miss you guys already.

Room Tip: Stay away from the pool area. Otherwise all the rooms are quiet. Some are single, hotel style rooms...

Green Features: Definitely an environmentally friendly place. We saw solar panels on roofs. They asked to reuse towels if possible. And the gardens are definitely environmentally friendly!

This was our first time at Pleasant Bay and needless to say we were pleasantly surprised. We would definitely return. We had a 2 bedroom upper suite that was perfect and very private. The staff was more than accommodating and friendly.

Room Tip: We had a 2 bedroom upper suite and it was perfect, very quiet and away from the pool and traffic.
