I've been to the Chatham Squire several times over the years and it is always good. The menu is pretty much the usual New England menu: lots of seafood, but steak and non-seafood items as well. I don't off the top of my head recall what their vegetarian choices might be. Dishes that I especially like there include their clam chowder, linguini with clam sauce, and just about any dessert. LIke most restaurants in the area it can get very crowded during the summer; unlike many it stays open the entire year, which may contribute to the atmosphere of familiarity as it is a place that locals as well as tourists will go to.

We asked a local for a "down home" restaurant recommendation and he immediately responded with "The Squire". Ten of us ate in the bar area and loved it. It has great atmosphere and the food and drinks were very good too. If you want "fancy" this is not the place, but if you want a fun loving place with good food and great service this is the place to go.

You have to go to the Squire if you are in Chatham. The food & beer is local, its not expensive. Its quintessential. It's yummy. And its fun. Is it the greatest you will ever have? No - but its a local institution and its cool. You can catch a game, catch some AC or just chill out. We always sit at the bar. Get the chowder, a local cape cod beer & some garlic bread. Throw in some Katama or Chatham oysters & does it really get better? It doesn't.

If you like a frozen fish sandwich on a stale bun with a bag of chips then you may like this place. We were new in the area and were not sure where to eat and was very disappointed that a couple of very small drinks with all ice and 2 sandwiches, soup (was ok), 1/2 dozen oysters not on ice added up to $87? Don't even get me started on the dirty restroom.

This is certainly a local spot! Right in the middle of town. The food was good but the atmosphere is very dark and the carpeting looks like it is 50 years old! We did really enjoy our meal though. I would go back again and have dinner there on our next visit to the Cape.
