Vining's has recently relocated to new digs in the same commercial comp[lex in Chatham. We live in town and did not particularly like the old place. However, we've been to the new digs a number of times and have had consistently good food and very good service. Prices are a bit on the high side, but not outrageously so.

This is the best place to eat in Chatham, and it has some stiff competition. Outstanding menu, service and wine list. Wish we had found this earlier than our last night!

This restaurant has good food although fairly expensive. They also have outside seating if the weather is warm enough. If can be difficlt to find as the adress is the main street but it is really back off the street in a square, which has a pizza place on the corner of it and the main street.

No reservation was necessary on this columbus day monday but while we were there the restaurant filled. Bistro ambiance with nice subtle decor gave a nice feel to this Monday night. Cocktails were well made and delicious. My only real complaint was that no bread basket appeared. I had read that the breads were delicious and only assume that because we ordered the 3 course fixed price menu no breads were available. Wine list has some reasonable choices. Among the appetizers the small Caesar salad was outstanding with a subtle dressing, lots of Fresh Parmesan and white anchovies. We also shared the Jerk chicken quesadilla which was also very good with just enough heat and a nice spinach salad with pico de gallo. There were lots of beguiling menu offerings and we chose the Chatham cod and the swordfish. Cod was served in a frying pan with rice and grilled veggies (Broccoli rabe was a nice addition but was inadequately cooked), very hot. The swordfish although nicely seasoned was only room temperature; veggies were good and the deep fried polenta cake was outstanding. Desserts were coconut fried ice cream in a kind of phyllo shell which was good but the tarte tatin served in a bed of caramet sauce was wonderful!!!!!!
