The Wayside Inn is a lovely hotel perfectly situated in the center of town. Walk to shopping, restaurants, and beach. The rooms are quaint and cozy and the grounds are beautifully landscaped. Free coffee in the dining room every morning. It is a quiet and low key resort...perfect getaway! Highly recommended!

Room Tip: For more romantic room, choose a king size room in the main building!

We recently stayed at the Wayside Inn and thought it was a great place to stay right in the center of town. The room was bright, nicely decorated, immaculate and good sized.
Our only complaint during our stay :the room was located right over the exterior entrance to the restaurant downstairs (which was very nice). We could hear everyone's conversation outside as they read the menu aloud or waited to be seated. If you are a light sleeper this might be a consideration.
We also ate a few times at the restaurant and had great meals.

Room Tip: Avoid the street side over the restaurant entrance.

This was my 11th year staying at the Wayside Inn and they've never let me down.
A great staff, rooms as clean as my own house, and a great restaurant to boot.
In the words of Arnold.....
I'll be back!!!

The location is great, but the rooms on the first floor leave much to be desired
Rooms 101, 103 and 105 have paper thin walls and you can hear your neighbor sneeze
Be prepared to pay more to stay in an area of the inn where you can

The inn is charming and location to town was great, but it would have been helpful if I was informed that the room (crescent shaped) was located directly above the main entrance door. So every time the door closes the room literally shakes. I experienced this throughout the night. The next morning I spoke with a Mgr and asked to either be moved or compromise on the room rate and she said no and that no one had ever complained about that. She would refund me one night if I chose to leave. I chose to leave, how unfortunate.

Room Tip: The crescent shaped room in the Main Inn is located above the main entrance door. Very noisy

It's hard to beat the location - right in the center of downtown. We walked everywhere, including both the town beach and the beach at the end of the main road. Our one bedroom suite was huge. Our one complaint is the rollaway bed used by my son. The frame was in fine shape, but the mattress had seen better days and had springs that poked up and made his first night uncomfortable. The hotel's restaurant - the Wild Goose - offered a really terrific breakfast (continental is free, we ordered a la carte) and a great dinner. The pool is smallish - but at least they had one! All in all, it was a very nice stay for a fair price in a great location.

This is a very charming inn that epitomizes the best of New England. It is located in a perfect
spot in the center of the lovely town of Chatham within walking distance of everything. The rooms are large, comfortable, clean and well appointed. We were only there 2 nights, but would
loved to have stayed longer. We had a wonderful lobster dinner there on one of our evenings.
