Only a little less than 1/2 mile of trail but some nice views of the E Branch of the Westfield River as it flows through the gorge. Well maintained little park. Great spot for a picnic (tables included).

Quick stop with beautiful views of the gorge. Good place to walk a little, just be carful of slipping when wet.

Now here's a little known and fun factoid of New England geography - you can visit two different river gorge natural attractions called Chesterfield Gorge in a single day, one of them in rural Massachusetts and another about 61 miles northeast in rural New Hampshire. Just to add to the confusion potential, they are both located off state route 9, but not the same route 9. They are both serene and beautiful, and both offer up some pretty good trout fishing, birding, and walks in the woods. Note that some prior TripAdvisor reviews may review (without specifying) either the New Hampshire or the Massachusetts river gorge. So mind the directions!

Love the gorge along River Road. I've walked my dog here for years. So beautiful as well as interesting.

Very pretty gorge with rapids. Confusing trail layout but good views from rim of the gorge. Trail was hard to figure out how to get to the base of the gorge.
