“Horrendous! Disgusting!”

Do not go. Absolutely horrible. Ordered lobster roll, 20 dollars, served with cole slaw that looked as if had sat in dumpster for 5 days, yellow, so gross. Waiter says " it always looks like that" i bet he's correct. Waiter, one of these idiots who thinks he's amusing, but so far from it. We left most of food on table, couldn't wait to get out of there. Its dirty, the food is just terrible, stay away.

“Won't go back!”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

Used to enjoy the food. Crabmeat (I use that term lightly) burger was inedible. No crab and it tasted foul. All breadcrumbs. Wife had veggie burger. Mostly breadcrumbs again and bland. Did not complain as life is too short. When waitress came by to clear our table she asked why I hadn't eaten the crab burger. I told her it was terrible and that it was not her fault (she asked). Manager came over after a bit and asked what was wrong with my meal. I repeated my opinion ( he asked) and his response was that there was indeed plenty of crab in the burger, I just couldn't see it and that it was fine. He took it off the bill. We tipped 25% on the total (including the removed item)
and left. Manager was incompetent telling me the food was fine and the waitress was completely indifferent even though she received a 25% tip for her 2 minutes of service. We can put up with just about anything except obstinate, contrary waitstaff.

“Ok ... If you don't want to be part of the reality show!”
Reviewed 14 September 2013

First, as much as it panders otherwise ... Dooley's is a cliche Irish pub. Maybe something like you'd see in Orlando passing as an "Irish" theme restaurant. Besides the faux signage, Dooley's could use some 'authentic' expats from the 'Old Sod' nursing a Guinness in the corner reading the cricket scores from a Dublin newspaper, to complete the decor. That being said, Mr. Dooley's is decent in the menu (try the tomato bisque or onion soup!! ) department if you stick with the comfort food. The Irish fare is acceptable. And good. No question, the service is friendly and attentive. The critical key to a pleasant dining experience at Mr. Dooley's - in my experience - is where and when to be seated. First, the bar scene differs from day to night. Expect the following: During the afternoon belly up with local 'tradesman' like landscapers, builders and townies - in their hoodies and Carhartt utility pants - followed by a sprinkling of retirees and college students. At night, expect young professionals watching sports, a gaggle of gals perhaps out for a few laughs, a single dad or a local real estate agent plying her customer. Decidedly more upscale. But the scene is friendly at either hour and the bartender is full of amusing stories if you crank him up. Also, the manager is hands on. The dining room tables, however, are an entirely different story. Please proceed with caution! On three different occasions I witnessed a disturbing scene out of a Chuck E Cheese commercial - Cohasset style! Seated nearby is young mom and dad, right out of central casting for a reality show on wealthy yuppie suburbanites - drawn from Boston's financial or tech community. OMG!! Screaming little kids. Food flying off plates. The noise and distraction can be deafening. You will be challenged to carry on a reasonable conversation seated next door. Regulars have nicely 'suggested' to the restaurant manager to consider covering the hard walls and ceiling with inexpensive and non intrusive sound baffling fabric. But the plea goes unanswered. Be well advised, if you're out for a quiet dinner, go early before it turns into 'kiddie land'. Unless, of course, you brought your own - then join the party! Or, if it's a special night, request window booth seating that's somewhat removed from the cackle, if they're mercifully available. After all, you didn't sign on to be part of the reality show..

“Great Atmosphere”

What a great place to have a few beers and hang out with friends. I went there for lunch before my fiend's wedding. Great beer selection and good pub food.
