“Scargo - always a great stop on the Cape”

We go to Scargo a few times a year and it is always dependable. Good food and friendly place. There are some favorites on the menu and they change it up frequently enough to keep our interest. In tourist season, it will get crowded.

Excellent food! The best lobster roll, fries, and coleslaw I've ever had! There were a few vegetarian options, and the seafood selections all sounded spectacular.

“Scargo -- Nice stop for a nosh”

Solid Cape restaurant, with dependable quality food and drinks. As locals, we tend to like it best off-season when things are a little less frenzied.

“Great Food, Mediocre Service”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

We had a reservation for four and were seated promptly. The waitress greeted us and as she was about to put cocktail napkins on the table, she dropped two of them on the floor. Instead of getting fresh napkins, she placed them on the table. Strike One!

As she was serving our drinks she dropped the tray with two of the drinks and covered the table with beer and wine. It happens I get it. She apologized and said she was going to get something to clean up the spill. Instead of immediately attending to us and the spill, she went to the table next to us to attend to them as the beer and wine flowed across our table. Strike Two!

The spill was then cleaned up by two other employees. She then brought two new drinks to replace the spilled drinks. We had a shrimp cocktail and calamari for the table for apps. Both were delicious! Three out of four of the meals were served. The fourth meal was not ready as the kitchen did not properly put the right substitute on the plate. We waited 2-3 minutes to eat as we waited for the fourth meal. She should have waited for all meals to be ready before serving any of our meals. Strike two and a half.

Two of us got salmon and two got swordfish. Both meals were great. Tasty, good portions size and nice presentation.

The bill arrived and there was no consideration given to the earlier incident of the major spill. I did not complain, but I was disappointed. I will have to decide whether it is a place I would return to or not.
