“great service and very good food choices”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

The waiter was very attentive. The food is mainly traditional american with an emphasis on local sources. My husband had salmon and I had duck. We both enjoyed our food very much. The decor was somewhat rough for the level of sophistication of the food and prices. The drink menu was interesting. I had a chocolate martini which I recommend.

“Charming and tasty”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

Very cute place with excellent food. Three of us dined and everything we ate was excellent. Rustic feel, broad menu and solid service. Cost for Cape dining a bit toward the high side. Probably a once a year place for us.

“Delicious in Dennis”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

Chose the Red Pheasant for a very special birthday celebration and so happy we did!! We enjoy dining and have eaten in many fine restaurants all over the word and must say that the food preparation at the Red Pheasant competes with the best of the best. Started with ceviche which was perfectly and authentically seasoned with the very freshest of sea bass and salmon. The Barnstable Oysters on the half could not have been better. We both chose the Pork Chop (grass fed from a farm in Maine), and we have never tasted a chop as moist and delicious...served with creamy(NOT GREASY ) grits and gently sautéed swiss chard which tasted just picked. We usually pass on dessert but because it was a birthday, we splurged and ordered the Profiterols...HEAVEN ON A PLATE!!!-The lightest home made puff shell filled with -not too sweet ice cream and homemade whipped cream topped with THE MOST DELICIOUS homemade chocolate sauce!! One of the VERY BEST desserts ever!! The service was prompt and courteous. Thank you Red Pheasant for a memorable birthday dinner; we will surely be back...

“Great - as always!”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

This is one of our favorite restaurants on the Cape. Set in a charming historical building on 6A, this is our "go to" place for fine dining. The food is wonderful and the staff is reliable and attentive. We especially recommend the duck, the rack of lamb, and the sole meuniere. A special thanks to the Atwoods for a perfect experience every time-

“This is a lovely restaurant with american/lodge/"game" food with a Cape Cod flair”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

The atmosphere is very nice; we sat in the porch section (near bar) which was more well lit and looks onto garden area - the other areas were somewhat dark. (It is a "cozy" restaurant, though. There was a family not far from us who did not bother us but they were close) Our cocktails took too long to arrive and one of the drink orders was wrong and took a while to be replaced. Although my dinner was deliberately Cape Cod fare (clam chowder as a starter and an entree of lobster meat over pasta in miso sauce - which was scrumptous!), my guests ordered other foods: the Kimchi (sp?) perogi was SO good - and I would order that the next time I return. The starter onion tart looked great too! I was told the entree scallops were great, and the entree risotto looked fantastic!! Dessert was a chocolate bomb (with creme brulee inside but not enough) which all the guests liked - but it was a little too sweet for me (but I am not a big chocolate lover).
