“Wonderful Hotel and Staff”
Reviewed 21 July 2009

This is our second year staying with our new "Family" at the Corsair and it only gets better. The entire staff at this hotel can't do enough for their guests. The owners and managers, especially James are always making sure that their guests have the best vacation offered on the Cape. They are all very knowledgeable in offering advise on places to go, things to see, and picking the best restaurant choices for your tastes on any given day.
The rooms are spotless when you check in and are kept that way by their meticulous housekeeping staff. I use the word "Staff" very loosely because they are family while you are a guest at their resort. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel very welcome during your stay.
The location of this hotel couldn't be any better. You are right on the beach of Nantucket Sound along with having three (2 outdoor and 1 indoor) pools on their property as well as rooms or suites with fully equiped kitchenettes available. This is a nice convience when you go out to eat and have left overs or if as many of the families that stay there do, cook breakfast for everyone before heading out their door to the beach. It is a terrific extra amenity to have in your room. There are also gas grills throughout the property for guests to use.
We just got back from our 10 day stay last night and told James before we left that as soon as we got home he would be receiving our deposit for our vacation next year.
This truly is a wonderful hotel to have that great seaside, relaxing, vacation at. I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of going. Oh, the best part, compared to the majority of the hotels in the Dennis Port area, you won't beat the prices for everything you receive while you stay at the Corsair and Cross Rip hotels.

It's a good thing we came to Cape Cod to spend time outside, because if we came only to enjoy this hotel, we would have been extremely disappointed. The private beach was beautiful, and not overly crowded. But the hotel itself was nothing to write home about. There were just so many issues that added up to an overall frustrating hotel experience. First of all, when we booked the room we were surprised to learn we would be required to pay with a personal check within one week. I have never heard of a resort that doesn't let you reserve with a credit card. To their credit, they gladly gave me an extension until we were able to write the check, but we still found it strange.
The room itself had so many problems. The bathroom light only worked when it wanted to, often leaving us in the dark. The hair dryer did not work at all. During the night, our privacy shade on our door came crashing to the ground, really startling us. It wasn't exactly easy to fall back asleep, considering the blankets on the bed weren't exactly cozy. I don't expect hotel beds to be as comfortable as my own at home, but the blanket on the bed seriously appeared to be about 30 years old and was extremely scratchy. When we were planning on enjoying some pizza in our room, my husband went to the pop machines to get a pop and a water. Both had LONG expired!! He then had to run to the grocery store to get something to drink before our pizza arrived.
To the credit of the staff, when I brought the broken shade from the door to the lobby, the staff member was extremely apologetic and offered to have a maintenance person come in a few hours to fix it. I opted to just hang a towel up instead, because when you are only enjoying your stay for two days, why would you want the interference of someone repairing something that should have been in good condition upon arrival?
Also, we were left without air conditioning because our two year old son was sleeping in the smaller area separated by an accordian door. Since the air conditioning would have been right by his head, he would have been freezing and we wouldn't have felt it at all. So instead we were all hot and uncomfortable.
Overall, when we look back on this trip, we will remember the beach and enjoying Cape Cod. Staying at the Corsair did not ruin our vacation by any means, but we would not stay there again.

We are always concerned when our guests leave not completely satisfied with their stay. Often times when the dissatisfaction is expressed to a staff member a resolution is immediate. Sometimes resolving issues is a simple as communicating what they are. Our Michigan guests pointed out that a room hairdryer and deck door shade failed while they were with us. As they mentioned our staff members were there immediately with replacements. They expressed dissatisfaction over our deposit policy and an expired coke bottle, as well. The bottle in question was sold by the local coke bottling company but we were happy to buy them another one. The deposit policy requests a check for deposit for reservations made more than two weeks out from arrival. If we know in advance that this is not possible for the guest other arrangements are made. (We have a secured "Book Now" tab on our website they can use OR we can take the information over the phone and email a credit card authorization for to them to fill out, sign and email or fax back.)
Lastly, the room of choice for our guests was a deluxe room (extra large) that has two queen beds and a kid’s sleeper couch that can be isolated from the rest of the room via an accordion door. This is great when you want to put a child down for a day nap without closing down the whole room. Although the room has features of a suite it is not a suite and is not priced like a suite. It is the choice for many of your guests that like the added value with out the price. We do, however, have suites that will accommodate those that seek full separate rooms for privacy or convenience. When aware of the guest intent our staff is only too happy to recommend one of these alternatives.
The staff and I are saddened by the departure of this guest without being able to rectify the issues before their vacation began. We would like to invite them back for another visit to try our Junior Suite. We will also honor the same rate as the deluxe room for this next trip, and a dinner certificate for their family one night at one of our fine local restaurants. We hope this will make up for any discomfort experienced when they were with us – we want them back. Besides the upgraded room for their next trip there is still the great beach, pools and whirlpools to look forward to, as well!

My family of three have been coming to this resort for the past 4 years. Its a great-kid-friendly place, a heated outdoor pool, an indoor facility with pool, game room and free popcorn, also another outdoor pool, and pool toys for the kids to enjoy. Laundry facilities, free coffee in the morning, not to mention its on the ocean and the views are beautiful.

The room we stayed in was the Oceanfront Superior, a little small but its great to hear the ocean at night. The rug needs replacing and the balcony needs remodeling so you can actually enjoy the view. The rate was around $240 ouch!

This was our third time staying at C&C. We have one child and we brough him here when he was 3, 5 and 7. There has been plenty for him to do at each age so far. This particular visit was particularly challenging because Cape Cod has had a rainy spring and it rained nearly every day of our week. However, because of the activities building at C&C, we still had ways to entertain our son. He loved the indoor pool and the game room (foosball, air hockey and table tennis). I felt that we got good value out of that building! Another reason we stay here in the proximity to the beach. This time whevever we saw a speck of sun we would get our stuff together and we could be on the beach in 5 minutes. We also enjoy walking to dinner. There are at least three good quality restaurants within a 10 minute walk (also the best icecream on the Cape - the original Sundae School). Lastly, this time we booked a unit in the CrossRip building because it had full appliances. This turned out to save us approx. $150 in meal costs (breakfast each day + lunch one day). So, if you have children and these things matter as much to you as they do to us, this is the best place to stay in Dennisport and possibily on the Cape (for the money).

Visited the cape 6/3/09 to 6/8/09 to attend a wedding and stayed in the Cross Rip building. The room was very spacious with two beds and a full kitchen area. Very comfortable bedding with large fluffy comforters and many pillows. Spacious bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, only negative to the bathroom was it lacked an exhaust fan, however there was a full size window that could be opened to let the steam out. Overall I'd give the room a good grade for being occupant friendly, well decorated, and priced fairly.
Best feature I liked in the room was the full size lounge chair where I spent my late nights reading a good book.

There was available each morning in the Corsair building a continental breakfast that most anyone could find something to please them. These items were available daily,
apples, bananas, cranberries, walnuts, raisins, granola, three cereals, oat meal, many different types of muffins, danishes, pastries, apple juice, orange juice, whole milk and skim milk. Seating was communal and everyone got to meet and know one another.

Couldn't finish my review without mentioning our most gracious host " James" at the front desk. James was always available to give a good recommendation on where to trek off to to see some sights or give great advice on where to eat. He didn't mind telling you if he hadn't been there, so he couldn't say one way or the other.

If you like to take an exercising walk on something other than the beach, there is a new community park opened up about two blocks down the ocean road with very good walking paths (not asphalt but fine gravel screenings) that are very comfortable to whatever pace you are walking/jogging. The trail begins in the closest back corner of the SeaView parking lot.

The weather on the cape isn't always what you want it to be but there are many things to do and explore during those periods.

The front desk (Mark & James) and their help are the best. This will be our 4th year back in August, 2009 and we recommend it highly. Our grandchildren love it because of the ocean, pool and the indoor pool . You can walk to restaurants that are close by . We have a great time here and very relaxing.
