“Nice, but not as expected”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

We were in Unit 103 in the Oceanfront building. You enter the unit directly into the bedroom which was kind of strange. The bedroom and living area is separated by a pocket door. A stretch to call it a 1 bedroom -- more like a studio -- but is was nicely decorated and perfect for 2 people, crowded with 3. We had our college aged daughter with us and she was glad we had packed an Aero Bed as the pull out sofa bed was awful. The unit's front window was directly on the pool deck, however there is no access to the pool from the unit, so no outside space. In fact ALL of the units in the Ocean building have neither balconies or patios. The building across the street (Units in the 300-500 block) do have balconies/patios. Being on the first floor we heard every footfall, bathroom flush, and opening of drawers of our upstairs neighbors which was a bit annoying as we are late sleepers. The beach is directly in front of the pool with easy access and even a few lounge chairs. The beach is not cleaned so there was a lot of ocean detritus, but not horrible. The pool was well maintained and I saw staff there every day checking PH levels, etc. The unit had a full size refrigerator, microwave, and enough dishes and glasses to keep us happy. There are two grills in the parking area -- we did not use -- but people were grilling every evening so seemed to be well maintained. Laundry is free in the common area which included a guest computer. We had little interaction with the staff as the front desk is at The Soundings next door, but the staff we did speak to were gracious and helpful. Towel exchange every day if desired. There are two restaurants within 2/10th's of a mile. The snotty and pretentious Ocean House is a nice place to have an after dinner drink, and if you can stand the "holier than thou" attitude of the staff you can enjoy an overpriced entree for dinner. The Ebb Tide is by far the better choice. Service, food, and ambiance are all wonderful, and they have a prix-fixed 3 course menu for $27 on Mondays or for early birds every day. My husband got the best Prime Rib he's ever had on this menu -- and the a la carte menu was even better! I did not give this resort 5 stars merely because of the small size of the unit and lack of outside space, however, it was clean and comfortable and oceanfront.

Room Tip: Higher floors will have less noise.

My husband and I exchanged our timeshare and based our selection on the online reviews, pictures and exchange agent recommendations. We expected a much better resort that what greeted us. We were placed in a studio that we were told would accommodate 4 and had either a patio or deck. When we arrived in the room, it was very small, could only accommodate 2 and had no outdoor space. The view from the room's one window was the dumpster and the street. The resort desk staff was less than helpful and it took multiple calls to reach the resort manager. The Internet was spotty at best and there were no pool towels, a poorly kept beach and one washer/dryer for each of the 2 buildings. This resort should be listed as a marginal 2 star on par with a Hampton Inn. The resort staff was not very caring and could benefit from some customer service training. Buyer beware....there are many options for much better accommodations on Cape Cod so don't settle for a substandard, poorly managed facility............choose another establishment.

Room Tip: Choose another establishment!

I loved our stay at the Breakers ! We stayed in a one bedroom unit that was really spacious !
It was nice and clean and had all the amenities that I would want. Everyone I came in contact with was very helpful and friendly. I would love to stay here again.

Room Tip: My room was on the ocean side - and we did have a nice view. The other building is across the street...

My husband and I stayed here May 31st for 7 nights. We exchanged our timeshare week through Interval Exchange. After looking at all the on-line pictures of the Breakers showing it right on the water, that's what we expected...... but were VERY UNHAPPY to be told that our one bedroom unit was across the street with no view of water at all. Then to top it off.... when we get in to the unit, we see that it is a handicap accessible room.... meaning it has no bathtub... not even a shower stall.... it more or less has a shower curtain up across part of the room to allow for a wheel chair to roll in. The water was either scalding hot or ice cold.... no in between. The sink in the bathroom had absolutely no counter space.... just a sink on the wall.... which means you have no place to put your toiletries. We actually ended up bringing in one of the living room end tables in to the bathroom, just to have SOMETHING to put our things on. I talked to the front desk several times about getting us moved to a 'regular' room..... they at first said possibly in a day or two they would have another unit available but they never called me back.... I had to keep calling them to check on the matter. Seemed like we were just getting the run-around. We finally just gave up on it. Nobody at the front desk went out of their way to help.... quite disappointing.
The resort also states that they have free Internet access but it RARELY worked. I heard other guest complaining about not being able to connect too... all the front desk personnel would say is " all I can do is reset it'.... but the situation never improved over the entire week.
We completely enjoyed our week on the cape but would definitely NOT stay here again.

We had a 2 bdrm/2 bath unit for four people. It was very clean and comfortable, decor and colors were cheerful during a cold and sometimes dreary week. Jacuzzi tub (next to dining room table) was great--kids enjoyed it. View of ocean from windows was great (room 205)--would recommend room in ocean-side building, and the two-bedroom was great. Coffeemaker is 10 cup, no filters provided (uses cone-shape). Beach towels provided in rooms. Free laundry facility (opens at 9am), wi-fi is free for time-share owners/exchange, surcharge is for renters. Nice WARM pool and hot tub next door at The Soundings (very appreciated when weather isn't great and kids need something to do). Outdoor pools at Breakers were not open when we were there--too cold. Beach area is nice, but we didn't get to enjoy it b/c of cold/wind. Did see a few ants near jacuzzi in room, tried to be careful w/ food and crumbs and it didn't become a problem. Hairdryer supplied in each bath, but I used my own b/c it has cooler settings. Parking is challenging--skinny spaces, uncovered, have to turn around in small lot to exit.

Let me start by saying we had a lovely experience here. There are not a lot of truly luxury accommodations on cape cod and this was a super clean and renovated and comfortable moderate accommodation. The location of your unit makes a big difference. The views on the ocean side make up for some eccentricities. We exchanged into a 2 bedroom and also booked an extra 1 bedroom ocean front that we paid for. We had six people; 4 adults and two 15 year olds. We couldn't have fit in the 2 bedroom alone. I guess we are beyond the sleeper sofa stage. However it is big enough to squish in one twin aero bed if you don't mind it sticking out into the living room. The two bedroom had ocean views out the side windows, the 1 bedroom had full ocean front views, both water views were looking over a dining room table and indoor jacuzzi bathtub. The table and bathtub are in an area that used to be an outside porch that has been incorporated into the room. That makes the living space larger, but there isn't a porch or balcony. There is a kitchenette with no stove or oven. There is a microwave, toaster, full small fridge and coffee maker. Full dishes and utensils. We brought a hot plate to boil things, and an electric fry pan to sauté or steam shellfish. We were set! The walls are thin, but the bathrooms are clean and the place was really functional. We had fun playing cards and watching basketball, and listening to the waves. Furniture was comfortable. Recommend asking for the 1 bedroom ocean front second floor. It's the best room in the house.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have better views. Try to get on the ocean side as there are units across the str...
