I love the house itself and how welcome I feel each time I return for a stay. The rooms are charming, comfortable and clean. The tariff is fair and includes breakfast [my favorites: delicious omelets cooked to order and homemade muffins] served in the beautiful breakfast room. Coffee is offered in the common room before breakfast. The innkeepers will cheerfully make dinner reservations and provide directions and suggestions to help make your visit a most enjoyable one. Nauset Beach is a gentle walk or short drive away. And, there is an artist in residence! I am looking forward to a repeat visit in September 2009.

We've stayed there every spring for 16 years and would never think of going anywhere else on Cape Cod. The Nauset House is what makes our annual Cape Cod trip so special. It has everything you could possibly wish for! It's an old farmhouse with apple trees and many beautiful English-style gardens tucked here and there. And there's a charming old shed with art work created by the innkeepers. A huge glass conservatory with gardens and other secrets inside. Inside is the elegant and very comfortable sitting room with a fireplace and lots of books. The breakfasts are always delicious, the other guests are always as happy to be there as we are and the Innkeepers-in a class by themselves!

We have been guests at the Nauset House Inn every year for the past 15 years. It is a friendly, homey place. The inkeepers, John and Cindy, and other staff are terrific, the breakfasts are fabulous, and the rooms are very comfortable. Diane Johnson, Cindy's mother, has hand stenciled the bedrooms and halls, and hung her own paintings in the inn. The staff is full of suggestions about where to eat and sites to see. There is a guest refrigerator where you can leave snacks and drinks, tho' you may not need to, since a wine and cheese hour is held every evening from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. A spacious lawn with chairs and tables is available for reading, chatting, or just dreaming. We always love our time there and look forward to visiting again.

My husband and I have been going to the Nauset House Inn for 9 years and hope to continue for many more years. The rooms are comfortable and carefully and lovingly prepared and decorated. The staff is friendly, polite, and committed to making Nauset House the special place that it is.

The breakfasts are superb. Every morning there are warm homemade muffins and a choice of three or four entrees. They make the best omelets that I have ever had anywhere. Everything is cooked to order with the freshest of ingredients.

In addition, all the staff are available to recommend and help plan and arrange for the endless activities in the area.

My husband and I look forward to our Nauset House Inn vacation every year. We think of it as a little piece of heaven.

After traveling to Inns in many states, we feel The Nauset House Inn was the best.
The staff and owners were very helpful with making sure our stay was exceptional. This place has a lot of history. They serve up a delicious breakfast every morning and they also make sure you enjoy your dinner out. They they tell the restaurant owner you are going there and you most likely get a visit from them to make sure your dinner is to your liking. It is only a short walk to the beach and delicious hor d'ouveres. We will be booking for next year.

A short walk to the best beach in the world, the Nauset House is an inviting, homey, wonderful retreat for those who understand what B&Bs are meant to be. The hosts - Diane, Cindy and John - are warm, friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Each room is unique and homey. Where else can you find a room with two twin beds and a room with a single bed when you want to bring your late teen/early 20's kids but also a wonderful romantic enclave with a balcony that overlooks the garden when you are on your own? The breakfasts are a delight - not the extravagant calorie-laden offerings of some inns but just enough delicious homemade choices along with convivial conversation with other guests. Diane's artistry can be seen throughout the Inn and there is always a fresh flower or two in surprising places in your room and bath.

This place is an incredible bargain, and we would stay here if it were much more expensive. Each time we have come - and there have been many - we have had a wonderful stay and start to plan when we can return. Orleans is the perfect compromise between some of the more honky-tonk parts of the Cape and the more remote. There is lots to do, or you can just sit with a book in the Conservatory, the gardens or on the beach.

If you eschew the jacuzzi in your bedroom and the inflated pricetag that goes along with it, but prefer charming, relaxing, and unpretentious, this is the place for you. Diane, Cindy and John will tell you all you want to know about this part of the Cape as you share a glass of wine in the early evening on the comfy couch in front of the hearth.
