My wife and I stayed ai the "Inn at the oaks: this mother's day weekend, and we had a wonderful time. This is a beautiful victorian style inn, that is is great shape. We stayed in the "Garden Room" which is the only guest room on the 1st floor of the main house. We had a separate entrance, besides the entrance from the parlor, also had a setting porch all to ourselfs. There was a delightfull contentinal breakfast each morning, with lots of pipping hot joe to enjoy!
This weekend most of the attractions and resturants on the cape, and in the imediate area of the inn were just opening for the season, so there were tons of things to do and places to go for dinner. We also took advantage of the inn's location to the cape bike trail, to streatch our bike legs( probably to far, we did 22 miles).
The staff was wonderful, very helpful in locating places to enjoy a quick bite, and in locating antiquing places to scrounge thru.
We also traveled with our two small dogs( our children), and the inn and staff were just so nice and hospitable towards our little ones.
We are already planning our next visit, probably later in september or early october, to checkout the fall season.

Room Tip: The garden room is very cozy for an intimate get-a-way with your spouse, spacious setting porch, which is privet just for the room.

Nice place to stay on the Cape with an quick drive to nice beaches, restaurants in Orleans, or a ride to P-town. Staff is very friendly. Great baked goods in the afternoon, nice continental spread in the morning. Will return!

My wife and I went for a weekend. The Inn was fairly booked but did not seem crowded, which was great. The new caretaker, Kelly, is very nice and seems like she would help in any way she could.

We had the Lighthouse Suite in the Carriage House. The room itself was very clean but very white. There were no curtains on the windows only the thin venetian blinds. It may be that they just renovated the room and have not had a chance to finish the room yet, but we could only go by what we saw. The bed was comfortable and the overhead fan made for a nice breeze. The rooms inside the main house may be well appointed and beautiful. We just never saw those rooms.

The location is not too far from Chatham and close to the National Park.

Management response:Responded 3 July 2012

I'm really glad that you enjoyed your stay, and you are correct that the decor in the suite you stayed in lacked a few finishing touches. We've added some pictures and new curtains and a few other details make this re-decorated room even more comfortable (it's one of my favorites). New pictures of the room will soon be added to our website. Thanks so much for visiting us and for your nice comments.

Even in off season this place was amazing. Kelly greeted us at the door very enthusiastically, and was great to chat to the whole time we were there.

Our room was upstairs at the front and was everything we needed. It has a bathroom right across the hall which is just for the room. The rooms were also very nicely furnished and quiet.

The breakfast offering was great - bagels, bread, muffins, coffee, fruit, yoghurt. It was all there.

The area surrounding the hotel was a little sleepy - there are restaurants nearby, and the staff will help you find them and recommend places. But there wasn't anything right next door, for example. But that added to the magic of the place to us.

The national seashore is all around the area, and with a convenient location right on the route 6, its so easy to find. The lobby is full of leaflets on trails and local information, and they keep cookies and hot coffee in the front room for guests returning from walks / days out.

Overall a great stay. Highly recommended!

My husband and I went up for the weekend from NY. It's off season right now and about to get busy - but we wanted something relaxing. The Inn is super clean, cozy, and way bigger than we thought! The grounds are nice and it's close to some awesome beaches! Our room was facing the backyard on the second floor and was very clean and cozy. The staff was really nice and told us about where to check out whales. I would very much recommend this Inn to friends and family!

Room Tip: We only stayed in one room, but we peeked in others and they were all beautiful!
