Don't go. No time management: Entrees brought out COLD while we were still eating soup and appetizers. Poor description of food items, overpriced seafood entrees. Waitress and owners give silly excuses for shortcomings.

Second time we’ve been to Stewart’s over the past two years. Food was good, service was quick and the hostess was friendly. Everyone in our party enjoyed their dinner, baked scallops, lobster roll, lobster ravioli and fried clams.

Had been to Stewarts a few times about two years ago. It was just average, and we had not been back. Based on some reviews here (granted there are extremes) it seemed like the food had improved. We were very happily surprised with our experience. The service was good and the food was good. We went on a Sunday evening in late August, so it wasn't overly busy. I like the atmosphere-outdoor seating, little jazz band, very lively. I had sea bass that was in a light, flavorful sauce, with very good rice. Also had a tuna poke appetizer (raw tuna with some lime and other spices) which was excellent--the lobster bisque was just okay.

Overall, a good experience, and we will go back and give it another try soon.

Friends and I visited Stewarts for lunch (earlier today) and had a terrible experience.

There were only a handful of tables filled at the restaurant when we arrived. We had four hungry kids between us, so ordered three mac and cheese plates and some mini-cheeseburgers. We asked that the kids' order be put in first to come out ASAP. Five minutes later the adults added two cups of lobster bisque, two salads and a fish sandwich to the order.

Over 30 minutes later the fish and chips is served, but nothing else shows up! We beg our waitress for food for the kids. "How long can it take to make Kraft Mac and Cheese?"

Finally, the kids' food comes, followed by ours. The two cups of lobster bisque were odd - I've never had lobster bisque before that is white. Is this a Stewarts specialty?...was it not finished?...or were we served clam chowder with some lobster thrown in??? I didn't think about it at the restaurant as we were so happy to have food, but when I became sick later, I knew it had to be the soup.

We asked our waitress to adjust the bill due to the inability to get kids mac and cheese to us within 45 minutes. She sent over the owner who didn't want to adjust it saying "Well, did they eat it? We are understaffed."

Yes, they ate it...they were starving...and I ate the white lobster bisque but really wish I didn't!

He did adjust the check, but we were all left with a bad taste in our mouths (literally and figuratively!). Rude hostess also noted.

Sorry to post this, Stewarts, but there seems to be a running theme with bad service in August 2014. Arrived and was told a fifteen minute wait. Ok. When i inquired about the empty tables they said they have to space diners for the kitchen. Ok, i get that. After 20 minutes when they seated two parties i asked about us and complained and was given a nonsense response. So we were at least seated at that point. Our waitress was nice. The purportedly fresh stripped bass was not good. Onion rings mysteriously appeared at our table and we said we did not order them. The waitress said she would remove it from the check. Check came with the onion rings still there. Really bad experience.
