Although there is a line of cars waiting to get into the limited parking area, this beach is well worth the wait. The longest it has ever taken us to get into the parking lot has been a half an hour. However, you can drop off your passengers with beach paraphernalia and go park at the high school which is about a mile up the road if you don't want to wait. Because there is limited parking this beach is not as crowded as some others on the national seashore in Cape Cod during peak season. There are miles of beach up and down from the entrance and if you want to get away from it all, you can walk down to more secluded areas. Remember national beaches don't have concessions so bring everything you would want to spend a delightful day at a beautiful beach. There is a long staircase broken up with landings to get past the dunes and onto the beach. If you have trouble with stairs it could be a problem.

Best part of this beach hands down is the view. We arrived early, around 9:30, and got in before the parking lot filled up. Many stairs down to the beach, but the view is just stunning, so stop to enjoy it! We had our kids and our dog with us, and the lifeguard was very friendly in letting us know to move past a certain point with the dog, which wasn't far at all. The water was very cold, and we couldn't get in to swim because of the rocks. But we had a very nice walk along the beach, saw plenty of seals, and overall it was a very relaxing day at the beach.

I recently visited Provincetown and stayed nearby Nauset Light Beach. My 1st visit was at dusk and it was eerily quiet even with large waves crashing on the sand. Its a very deep beach and the staircase down is steep, pace yourself on the way up. Bathrooms are located at the top. The parking lot is small, $15 to park on weekends. I'd arrive no later than 9am if you want a space. Simply gorgeous, the blue of the water is amazing. And let's not forget the SEALS!! We saw several close to the shore. Not the beach to swim in but definitely a great beach for basking in the sun with a good book! Not crowded and if you don't mind walking, walk down 1/4 mile and you'll be all alone. :-)

Nicely maintained beach and friendly lifeguards. A wonderful way to spend the day. Sometimes seals can be seen nearby but have never seen a shark in 45 years. Beautiful rounded rocks for collecting and relaxing to walk for as far as you can see.
