Aux Rives de Honfleur

We stayed at Aux Rives de Honfleur one our first night on a 12 day trip through Normandy and Bretagne. Pascal, the host, was an absolutely wonderful host and the room (Chambre Prunier) was very nicely appointed in a French country style with a very comfortable bed and a lovely adjoining terrace. The house was recently renovated so there is a great balance between a traditional and new. The breakfast was delicious and Pascal dedicated a lot of time to make great recommendations for dining and sightseeing. Parking is easy, dining options are close, and the house is in Normandy, not sure why TripAdvisor points otherwise.

Room Tip: Chambre Prunier has a balcony and is on the second floor

Marie and Pascal have been lovingly restoring and redecorating this beautiful home for over three years. They are absolutely charming, as well as warm, kind, and considerate. Whether for restaurant recommendations, directions, or any other information, they seemed delighted to be of assistance. I was very tired and a bit under the weather the morning after we arrived and decided to stay in bed to rest for a while longer rather than going to breakfast. When my husband advised Marie of this, she insisted on preparing a tray for me so I could have breakfast in bed. Breakfast (especially Marie's delicious homemade preserves) was a real treat and helped perk me up. We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights in the Figuier Room, a tastefully decorated room with en suite bath that is on the ground floor and overlooks the patio and garden. Marie and Pascal were such delightful hosts that it was difficult to leave. We hope to return to Aux Rives de Honfleur and see them again in the future!

Marie and Pascal greeted us at the door upon our arrival after a long day's drive with smiles on their faces, a crackling fire and hot tea with calvados. They were very warm and helpful during our stay of only one night. They sent us to the Honfleur Harbor which is truly beautiful and quaint. Surely, we will return to this warm and cozy B&B on our next trip to France.

And breakfast was lovely and complete with homemade fruit preserves made in Marie 's well stocked kitchen. The bed was very comfortable and the furnishings were complete and beautiful. I would recommend this property to the most discriminating traveller.

Thanks Marie and Pascal for a lovely visit to your "HOME AWAY FROM HOME".

My wife and I stayed only one night on a trip to Normandy and beautiful Honfleur. This B&B was the best we stayed in all of France. The location is nice due to the fact that it is not right in Honfleur, but a 5-10 minute trip into the beautiful countryside. We had a rental car, so it was very easy. We were welcomed on a chilly and rainy afternoon with hot tea by the fireplace. Our room was newly renovated with a very large and comfortable bed on the first floor. It had a beautiful bathroom with large tiled shower. Breakfast was absolutely the best I have had. We had fresh coffee, croissants and brioches, homemade yoghurt with fresh fruit, a selection of homemade jams and jellies and Mary even made us scrambled eggs (fresh from her neighbor's chickens) with chives and local cheese. Again, you must stay here if visiting Honfleur and looking for a beautiful B&B in the French countryside. Nick

Room Tip: They have a room on the ground floor, so if you have a problem with stairs ask for that one.

My husband and I spent our five year anniversary at Aux Rives this past July. We wanted a quiet, idyllic and romantic getaway, not too far from Paris, and not too far from other attractions. After reading so many wonderful reviews on TripAdvisor, we decided to stay with Marie at Aux Rives and I'm so glad we did! The house was completely charming! Our room was very newly renovated and beautifully (and tastefully!) decorated. The bed and linens all seemed to be brand new. Our room had French doors overlooking the most lovely garden, full of flowers, fruit and vegetables. Everything was in bloom, and we took our breakfast here, and enjoyed a bottle of wine there one evening (complete with a delightful homemade - gourmet! - snack from the kitchen). The breakfast was incredible! Every morning, we enjoyed fresh eggs, bacon, homemade yogurt, homemade jams, fresh breads and pastries, etc. And always - deux cafes! We ventured out to the town of Honfleur (about 5 minutes away), and ate at several cafes/restaurants in town. The food is all excellent! We spent most of our days touring around the Normandie region, which is all mostly under 2 hours away. We have so many wonderful memories of our stay at Aux Rives, surely many great ones to mark our five year anniversary! I highly recommend this stay to anyone, it will not disappoint in the least!

Two nights in September, a husband and wife team that do all they can to make you welcome, it is very quiet and comfortable and includes a first rate breakfast the reviews on here cover all the salient points and I would only be repeating them as I concur with nearly all said, only one slight negative and it's no fault of the owners, this place is a fair way from a restaurant and as we arrived on a Monday and most restaurants in France seem to close on Mondays it should be taken into account that you do not have somewhere to eat on your doorstep, it really is the only downside.

Stayed 2 days....could have stayed a week. Marie & Paschal are so nice, accommodating. Helpful with dinner reservations, how to get to omaha beach. Breakfast was heaven...in the backyard garden. Homemade yogurt, jams, figs. Beautiful room. Only negative - outside of Honfkeur, difficult to find.
