“A good time-share trade”
Reviewed 21 April 2009

My husband just got back from a rather cold week at the Harborside Inn. We enjoyed our first trip to Martha's Vineyard, and thought the Harborside Inn was a very pleasant experience. We exchanged one of our timeshares to visit. Our room was a very cozy and we had a beautiful view, and the mattress was quite comfortable.. We enjoyed sharing the kitchen facilities with other guests, and found the kitchens and barbeques very clean. It was fun talking with the guests and learning what restaurants to eat at and what to do. The only drawback was the cold weather, so we were unable to enjoy the pool and the ocean. Many good restaurants in the area.

This expensive hotel has a great location and view but the room was pitiful for $400/night. Not even close to $200 expectations. Big disappointment as the rooms were musty old and furniture was outdated. Bedding felt cheap with no luxury whatsoever. Staff was minimal and bell boy hustled for the local cab company and charged rates higher than standard.

This is our third trip to Martha's Vineyard and to the Harborside Inn.
Once again we were not disappointed both with the area and the hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful and the room and kitchen area are both spotless. It is right on the harbor so from your balcony there are views of the boats and the water. Martha's Vineyard is a great place in the off-season because the crowds are gone leaving the natural beauty to be enjoyed peacefully. We biked all over the island and walked on deserted beaches and nature trails. The restaurants on the Vineyard serve gourmet food although the prices are New York high. The resort has a communal kitchen area where you can prepare meals if you want to cut down on the expense. All in all a great vacation spot. We will definitely return.

We found this hotel lacking New England hospitality and it did not feel like an upmarket establishment. The pool was very small. The hot tub area was very 'municipal'. Staff were not particularly friendly, help with our bags was not automatically offered. We stayed in Milton House which had the feel of a boarding house, funny smell, dirty staircase. The room was ok. Small bathroom - no luxury there, and the pillows and bedding generally felt cheap. The view from the balcony was great, but rooms either side had the air con on all the time, even though temperatures were perfect and we had ours off the whole time. This meant that it felt as though we were sitting at an airport - it was so noisy. The hotel was very expensive and I'd expected so much more. Definitely wouldn't stay here again.

We stayed at the Harborside Inn from July 27th to the 30th. The room was beautiful and very clean. We stayed in room 410 at the C Ripton House which had the best view of the harbor. The bed was big and comfty. The pool is nice and clean. The only thing I would complained is there is no safe in the room and also no elevator! The hotel employees assisted with our luggage though. To improve this hotel would be to add a resturant. You must eat at "Among the Flowers" cafe. We ate there for breakfast & dinner. The food was delicious! We had a really nice relaxing time at the Harborside

We just returned from a visit to Edgartown and the Harborside Inn, which, in our opinion, is the best location in town. We lucked out with a room facing the harbor and we didn't need to use the alarm clock because the spectacular sunrise woke us every morning. (Why do we only appreciate the sunrises on vacation?) For historic building, the rooms are well-maintained with heat and air conditioning and we needed both on this trip. Amenities are on par with luxury boutique hotels. Staff are professional, friendly and accommodating. The sites, shopping, and restaurants of Edgartown are a hop, skip and jump away and front desk staff are knowledgable with recommendations. We enjoy walking--several beaches are close by. Plus the Inn offers a heated pool and hot tub. We particularly like visiting off season yet the location is ideal for the summer months because you don't need a car to take advantage of Edgartown and you can take buses to tour the other towns on the island. We will return again.

As newlyweds we had the most amazing time at the Harborside Inn, Edgartown -Martha's Vineyard for our honeymoon. The Inn is situated in the MIDDLE OF EVERYTHING!! Optimum service, the staff goes to extra mile to provide us with wine glasses and safety pins (my purse broke) which I needed. We had front row seating right on our balcony on the day of the charity auction. People who have time share were even friendly as well. The inn is much bigger than the pictures show and its extremely clean with breathtaking views of the yachts and boats. Complimentary Internet Access, Pool, Sauna, Hot tub Restaurants and Shops so close. During the summer, it has family fun appeal but that didn't take away from any privacy. If you like the feel of a hotel/inn rather than Bed &breakfast then this by far the best place to stay on the Island, and trust me we looked around! We will definitely be back for our anniversary!
