Going into their 29th year, Chef Brisson continues to deliver in an exceptional manner... the flavors are perfect, the service on-target but not overbearing. and a wonderful wine list to accompany the dinner!

This was the best lobster I have ever had. Never been much for turkey on Thanksgiving - so made a reservation at L'etoile this year. Two options for the first course, four for the second, and three entées (turkey, venison, or lobster). Pricey - yes but I the menu was posted in advance. Service was perfect, attentive, ideally timed. Soup, a corn chowder delicious. Second course, a roasted red and and golden beets, hearts of palm and chèvre with greens delicious and finally the lobster. Heaven.
Definately a place for a special occasion but will return when I'm looking for a an adventure in good eating.

After 28 years in the business, Michael Brisson has proved, like his great wine selection, one can improve with age. L'Etoile is better than ever. Other that eating at home, there are not many great gastronomic choices on The Vineyard, especially after Columbus Day when many eateries shut down for the season. Yes, you can find places with copious amounts of "atmosphere". But, the food doesn't live up to the visual stimulation. I started with duck foie gras that was melt-in-your-mouth. It went so well with the Red Cap Howell Mountain Cabernet. I then had the quail, one of my favorite fowls to eat while dining out (Mercer Kitchen does one cooked under a brick - wow!). Michael had this one prepared to perfection with the complimenting reduction sauce (also, very good with the cab). I believe he either sauted or broiled it of both. Next, came the short ribs with a wonderful nutty taste and another delicious reduction (as Michael queried me: "Not too reduced, I hope?". No sir, it was just right. The flourless chocolate cake was the piece de resistance to share with our friends around the table; and still good with the smidgin of cab still left in my glass.
Don't miss L'Etoile if you're here for a weekend or a week. Go back. We certainly will.

The L'etoile restaurant was a wonderful evening with great friends and delicious meals. The service was superb and nothing less than 100% to details in serving and servicing our group of 8. We had their signature lobster dish that was over the top delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful in the tented canopy with the strategically placed shrubs and greenery to provide the perfect surroundings.
