“Falmouth charm, history & hospitality”
Reviewed 27 October 2013

My husband and I stayed here the first time I ran the Falmouth Road Race, and we were so impressed with the hospitality & fantastic breakfasts (especially the waffles) that we are return guests. Jim and Anne are wonderful innkeepers offering guests a warm welcome, and a wealth of information and recommendations on the Cape's sights, beaches, activities, and restaurants. They are very accommodating for runners participating in the Falmouth Road Race or Cape Cod Marathon, preparing an early light breakfast.

The inn is part of the fabric of the town, a historic house that is very cozy - with central air conditioning, comfortable rooms & beds, and it's quiet. The inn's location couldn't be better, as it's within walking distance to the village green and Main Street shops & restaurants. It's also near a number of beaches, Woods Hole, the ferry bus stop to Martha's Vineyard, Shining Sea Bikeway, and convenient to the buses to the start of FRR and start/finish of marathon.

The Captain Tom Lawrence House is an ideal b & b if you're seeking a relaxing weekend, or a base for Falmouth and Cape explorations. We just returned from a wonderful fall weekend - the Cape is beautiful and uncrowded at this time of year, and we look forward to our next trip. Did I mention the waffles?

Jim and Anne were wonderful - we had to change the dates of our visit twice and they worked with us each time and gave us great service. We stayed in the Captains room, which was lovely. The bathroom was small, but we were warned of that upfront and did mind at all. My boyfriend enjoyed all of the breakfasts and my special dietary needs were met each morning, which I greatly appreciated. We would stay here again if we went back to the area, though Falmouth itself is a bit over built and busy for us.

Briefly:
- very nice B&B, nice house
- very near to the city center of Falmouth
- very nice hosts

We stayed in the Inn together with our parents and it was an overall nice experience. Perfect for a trip to Martha´s Vineyard, the drive to Woods Hole is only 5 minutes. Jim, the host, even gave us a ride to the harbor. Anne prepared a different breakfast for us on both mornings, which was delicious with fresh fruit and homebaked cake.
The location is great, it just takes a 5-10min walk to the city center to enjoy shopping or a meal.

I was in town for two days on a weekend, and found this place online and booked it. My lovely girlfriend and I could NOT have been happier. Home made breakfast in the morning, a VERY comfortable bed, and wonderful decour. No problem with parking, you can walk anywhere in fallmouth from the location. Ten zillion stars. Jim and Anne and blessings.

This was my first trip to Cape Cod. The Captain Lawrence inn was a great place to stay. It's very close to Woods Hole, and an easy walk to Main St in Falmouth. Jim and Anne are incredibly friendly, professional and helpful. They gave us great tips and suggestions that helped make our vacation. Breakfasts were delicious and the afternoon snacks were great.

I recently visited Falmouth and Woods Hole for business and stayed for five nights with Tom and Ann. They were great hosts and very considerate of my meeting schedule. It was great fun to stay in a home that had such an interesting history and I'd certainly stay there again.

Our final days on the Cape were spent in the inn. We found our room small but clean and very well kept. The bathroom was very small. Tom and Ann were very sweet and offered good advice on sightseeing. The breakfast were delicious and well thought out. You do have to share tables, but found other couples interesting as to what they were visiting. Plenty of parking. We were told we could leave our car after check out if we wanted to go into Woods Hole. We did have trouble get Internet in our room, but really didn't need it. Also, it would be nice to have either kitchen access or ice and water available. Both place we had stayed previous to arriving had let us use the kitchen and had ice and jugs of water. Still, it was a beautiful, well maintained inn. Would definitely recommend to friends and would stay again if we're ever lucky enough to get to the Cape again.
