“Great food and margaritas!”
Reviewed 17 May 2014 via mobile

This place has lasted here for a few years now, which says a lot for Falmouth. The food is Mexican fare with a bit of an upscale flavor. We had Maine lobster enchiladas, which were fabulous, and Carnitas, which were also very good. It is a bit pricey, but what can you expect from here? $22 for Carnitas? Enough said. House margarita weighs in at $10 but kicks your butt. Bottom line? Heck yes! I'll go back. It is not always easy to find good Mexican food!

“Great restaurant in downtown”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

Anejo has really good Mexican food which is pretty unusual for the Cape. Great service, reasonable prices. Make a reservation if it's Summer as it will be packed. Get the table side guac.

“Average place but not authentic”
Reviewed 7 May 2014

Average place with average food however not really authentic Mexican food.

The bartenders make good drinks. Some of the food is really good: Ahi salad, tuna tostada, the lobster tacos are pretty good. among others. The refried beans on side of most dishes are just okay nothing special, same with rice. The calamari tends to get too soaked on the bottom so when you get your order toss it around so it doesn't get soggy.

One timne the seasonal icecream brought out for our child was a choco taco despite allerting server-and our son has a peanut allergy.

Cinco de Mayo party always fun however this recent one-way too many of the employees were clearly wasted...you could hear the sound of the owner losing money with all the forgotten drinks that didn't get charged for. Margaritas outside are made with mix-hence why cheaper....inside the bartenders make a real one ;)

Some of the cons: way to small-the space could have been better utilized when they renovated after purchasing from old owner. A very small handful of the employees really need to be more friendly to visiting patrons-the permanent buzz off "I'm too good for you look" is not pretty.

Tip-they don't do reservations so if you go out -plan to get there prior to 5:45pm when they begin to fill up on popular nights. Tequila is good too :)

“Good Mexican food in NE”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

We had dinner here on a Tuesday night and the place was packed. The host gave us a pager and we were seated in 5 minutes. They had some fun and creative looking margarita's, but our table stuck to the beer for the night. The service was good, portions were more than enough and the environment was fun and energetic. Being a New Mexico native I have really high expectations for Mexican food. Anejo did a good job for new england. They had one option for vegans the mushroom tacos, it had a almost BBQ sauce and pickled onions. Not the flavors I was expecting, but it worked. The rest of the table had enchiladas and chimichanga's and loved their dishes.

“Decent Mexican........Lousy Drinks”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

I like the food and atmosphere and help at Anejo. I especially like their quesadillas......but I can't tell you how many times I want eat there and don't because their drinks are so bad. Their strawberry daiquiris are abysmal.....sugary mess with no real fruit or rum taste. The sodas whether it is ginger ale or coke suffer the same that all sodas that come out of the bar gun have....watered down version of the real thing that usually tastes half like what came out of the gun before they did your drink. If they fixed their lousy drinks, I would upgrade Anejo to very good in a heartbeat!!
