CapeWind Waterfront Resort

My sister and I spent the week of Labor Day here. We absolutely loved it! The rooms are clean with a very, summer cottage feel. Our favorite thing to do was drink our coffee outside our door in the morning. Birds overhead in the trees, a beautiful lawn and a pond at the bottom of the hill with swans and ducks. The area has great restaurants and plenty to do (our favorites were the whale watch from Hyannis and an art show in Falmouth) plus you are right off the road that will take you just about anywhere in Cape Cod. But you don't have to leave CapeWind. They have grills with picnic tables, a swimming pool and boats. And, the people at the front desk made us feel like old friends. Would definitely return....MG

Room Tip: If you like peace and quiet, but still want to have things to do, we found that going right after La...

Myself and my cousin stayed out there for the striperfest weekend, and they couldn't have been more hospitable. They gave us an early checkin and then let us stay late because they knew we were fishing and would be back late on Sunday morning. The rooms are very very very clean and the view down to the water is awesome. We will be back. Thank you Cindy for everything.

Room Tip: All the rooms have the view of the bay!!!!!

We originally stayed one night at another motel in town but were not happy with the accommodations even though it was very affordable. We drove around town and inquired at many places and we had our small dog with us and that narrowed the choices. When we checked the Capewinds and offered a room @ $175 per night it was one of the most expensive of the ones we looked at. We drove off but halfway down the road decided to go back for one night and then continue the next day to NYC. After the first night we decided to cancel NYC and stay a second night as it was soooo relaxing a stay. Quaint, charming, extremely clean. What a pleasure. Will never stay anywhere else when visiting the Cape. A real gem.

Room Tip: We had a room with out kitchen facilities but the was a clean refrigerator and coffee maker in the r...

It was a girls three day weekend away, and it was fantastic! Not only were we greeted by a friendly face, but we were treated like family. Cindy answered all our questions on where to eat and entertainment to see. We had all the comforts of home in the middle of the Cape; so close to beach, shopping and great food! But yet, where this resort is located, you feel like your totally away from the hustle and bustle of the Cape. If your looking for a Hotel with Loud bands and partying, don't stay here. If you want to get away and listen to nature and relax and unwind, definitely come here. The atmosphere is sedating. They have paddle boats, kayaks, and place to grill if you don't want to leave the resort. (and of course you have a full service kitchen) You can sit on swings, which are nestled all over the resort to overlook the water views.

In town for business and minding our time, our room was not ready when we arrived. The proprietor scrambled to summon the cleaning staff, who had us into our room 45 minutes to an hour later than scheduled check-in. We waited on the lawn - I urgently needed a bathroom, but the proprietor told us bathrooms were not for the public - even though we were lodging there that night! Not a single bathroom on the property was open to us - we were forced to get back in the car, leave the resort and drive into town looking for a restaurant, and he told us ok. Cape Wind couldn't accommodate, but McDonald's could? When we returned, the room still wasn't ready. We played horseshoes as it began to rain. When allowed to enter, the room was clean and nice, but we were now late, and the floors wet with bleach that burned our feet as we rushed to make our destination. Ultimately apologetic, he offered us late check-out, but we didn't need that, and didn't stay long enough for it to matter. Lovely property, but strange hospitality, and I'm afraid we won't try this again.

This place has not been updated since the 50's - just awful! See my photos, Remember when you were a little kid and all that mattered was a swimming pool, while this place had that and beautiful park-like grounds overlooking the estuary. Sounds nice – should be- but the rooms were just awful, not really clean’ filthy in the corners, a hodge-podge of mixed furniture, wire, and broken wooden hangers the holders of which were taped together with black electrical tape, broken blinds and old heater and air conditioner; not real clean. We had to use the hangers to hold up the curtain so that the cool air could blow on us on one of the hottest nights in Falmouth, but in looking at some of the other rooms we were lucky to have an air conditioner at all. Fifties asbestos floor tiles which were cracked and the bed so hard that I might as well have slept on the floor, my back was aching from the bed and I had two nights of misery. Then the bath products what a joke one little mini bar of soup and shampoo conditioner. I did not know I sighed up for a campground stay. This was a bloody nightmare. The Bates hotel – Alfred Hitchcock could have written a screen play about this one. People who left good reviews – I am perplexed. I have been all over Europe and stayed in some old hotels and never anything this poor. And the price for two nights nearly $600- OUCH!! Would not recommend to my worst enemy! No restaurant, fitness center, amenities, and the staff is gone @ 9PM and not back till 9PAM the next morning - I would not call this a resort.

Room Tip: There is no good room!
