If you appreciate plants and flowers and enjoy a stop in a peaceful place, this is a stop for you. We were there in late August and not much was blooming but it was delightful.

This lovely garden overlooking a pond with distant views of the ocean is a place of peace and beauty year round. However, it is without equal in daffodil season: there are thousands of them, in mixed beds, in single variety beds, under trees, nestled around some of the huge anchors Mr. Spohr collected...gorgeous.

Spohr Gardens began their plantngs some 50 + years ago so the plantings are mature. The Spohr's collected many items, bells from old churches, anchors form long gone ships, mill stones and so forth and they are all displayed in the gardens. The water view gardens are spectacular as is the landview gardens, dont miss the waterviews. No Charge, open from 10AM till 8PM in the summer. You will need about a half an hou to 45 minutes to walk throgh the gardens.

We really enjoyed our visit to Spohr Gardens. The Rhododendrons and Azeleas were out and so it was delightful. However, we missed out on all the Daffodils, there are thousands, as they had just finished but it did not detract from the beauty and tranquility of the place. They are not massive gardens, there are some on both sides of Fellls Road, but it is well worth a visit. They were refurbishing the house while we were there but I am not sure if that would be open to the public anyway. Allow about 1 1/2 to 2 hours for your visit. Even the drive from Main Street to Fells Road is lovely.

Very nice relaxing visit with friends. Small beautiful gardens with massive anchors. We saw beautiful flowers and tiny little turtles bathing in the sun.
