“A fun place”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

This place was hopping on Saturday night. The problem was that there were not enough bartenders to handle the patrons....also the band didn't get started till late. Food was just OK at best but it was a fun night.

“Avoid at your peril”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

My wife and I were staying close to this pub on holiday for the week and decided to have a Sunday roast. Although shocked at the price of £12 p/p (which must be paid prior to meal and also sticky semi wiped tables). We recieved a plate of semi warm veg piled into a semi peak with very chewy beef (still with string attached) slapped literally on top with a yorkshire pudding that had seen better days. We felt that if one was to complain, that a refund would have been out of the question (hence paying prior to meal). We would advise that you avoid this public house at your peril. We did observe that if you were a regular that you welcomed. However we left not only hungry but very very disappointed. We put this down to experience.

“Good pub food by the water”
Reviewed 7 September 2013

Not the most amazing water view, but still nice by the boatyard. They have an nice patio for drinks or food. Our group all got burgers and sandwiches and enjoyed them. The staff was friendly. They even had some live music outside.

“Good food..so so service”
Reviewed 31 August 2013

Food was good. Menu was different from the last time we were there. Service wasn't terrific. Had to ask for waters a couple of times and coffee took 10-15 minutes before waitress remembered to bring it. Menu was a bit limited. Liked the old menu better but this restaurant could have been under new management a few years ago..not sure. Probably would not go back as it was a little overpriced for what we got.

“Just Say No!”
Reviewed 19 August 2013

Still mad. Went for an early dinner...sat ourselves outside. Place is nautical and attractive, view not so great, under a boatyard and boats overhead. Waited and waited and waited for waitperson who never came so went up to bar to order drinks and look for a menu. Were told waitress would be with us shortly so waited some more. Finally a waitress appears and took our drink order, as she started to walk away I asked for a side of ice. She did not appear to hear me and kept walking. She stops at the table behind us where she obviously knew the couple and talks for a good 5 minutes or so. Meanwhile we had waited 20 minutes for attention and are sitting in the hot sun. So so annoying. Then after her chat she comes back and says "I heard you ask for something as I was leaving, what did you need?". So she had heard me but kept walking, I am sorry but beyond RUDE. It just went downhill, she did not know the specials, the market price of any of the entrees, etc. The food was ok but was served prior to us getting silverware which we had to ask for and then wait while for while meals cooled. Not going back unless it is for a drink at the outside bar. They need extensive training in Waitressing 101 and customer service.
