“Did someone say, "Lobster"?”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

You absolutely cannot leave Cape Cod without having lobster, at least once. I had French Onion soup as my appetizer and it Wasn't Salty. Yea. Then came the 2lb lobster. Oh yum. Pleasant atmosphere. Friendly wait staff. But, make sure you get all the food you ordered.

“So disappointed”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

Quarterdeck was recommended by our resort, so we were excited to give it a try. It was reported to have great food with a fun atmosphere, kid friendly. First, we were seated in the bar area with our two 8yo girls. The atmosphere was not particularly fun. It was typical pub style decor. Our waitress was brief and distracted. During the course of the meal, she did not return to refill our drinks or ask if we liked the food. Which brings me to the food, this is where we were so disappointed. I ordered a $28 entree described as marinated and sauteed halibut with a dijon/dill sauce on lobster risotto. Sounded incredible, but the halibut was overcooked, not a little overcooked, but chewy overcooked. The dijon was heavy-handed and overpowered the entire dish. The dill was nonexistent, and the risotto was dry with two chewy lumps of lobster. My husband got a seafood dish over lobster ravioli. The only thing he enjoyed about his meal was the Union beer. The waitress spoke to another guest in the bar less than six feet away with her back to us for several minutes before turning and walking away without so much as a glance in our direction. I was dying for a glass of water which we had not been served. I had only had one glass of wine since sitting down, and after my dry risotto and chewy fish, I was parched. My daughters seemed to enjoy their kids meals, chicken fingers and lazy man's lobster, but that's about it. Needless to say we will not be going back.

“Great atmosphere”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

Eat at the Quarterdeck on a Friday in May. Great atmosphere, and clear that a lot of locals use it, which is always a good sign. An extensive reasonably priced menu, with good quality food and drink. When we were there there was also live music, and the musician who was a singer/guitarist was very good, and from this interaction with other diners clearly plays there regularly.

“Good Food”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

A nice selection of meals. The food is very good on a consistent basis. Service at times can be a little slow but the staff always seems to be busy .Since this business has been in it's location forever it is usually crowded for dinner so the atmosphere can be a little noisey at times. I will definitely go back as it is a nice place to have an informal dinner.

“Year Round Neighborhood Place”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

Quarterdeck is a reliable standby for a lot of locals -- nothing wildly exciting, but you can usually find something a little different or a favorite for a reasonable cost in a friendly setting. Walk through the low-key bar (lots of draft beers, quite a few small tables) to the rustic dining room (some cool decorative ship-like features).

Avoid spending lots of extra money on what appear to be fancy dishes; instead, opt for old fashioned cape cod favorites like whole-belly friend clams, fried oysters, chowder, etc., or choose a burger or sandwich. Your "fancy" money is best spent at haute cuisine spots!

That said, the blackened scallop salad was really outstanding.
