The scallops as a starter were fantastic, the lobster salad sandwich tasted great. The restaurant was kind of dark, but it helped add to the atmosphere. I would recommend this restaurant if you are cruising through Falmouth.

My first mistake was eating out on a Friday night in Falmouth MA. Not only are the restaurants full but parking is next to impossible.
Hearing horror stories we called ahead to the Quarterdeck at 10:00 AM and were told to call back about 5:00 PM to get on the list for a 7:00 PM dinner for six.
We called at 5:00 to and got our name on the list. We were told that the restaurant was busy and to come at 6:30PM for our 7:00PM seating.
Upon arrival, the restaurant was packed, the girls at the desk asked us "very coldly" to check back in 1/2 hour. Our name was third on the list. We understood and took a walk enjoying some of the shops in down town Falmouth. The half hour went by quickly and we returned to the restaurant again we were told to come back in 30-45 minuets. Now I was getting a little annoyed and asked what was the delay. The hostess said there were some large party's that would be out soon. Another 30 - 45 minuets back to the Quarterdeck and again the hostess told us " with a attitude" another 30 to 45 minutes. Now I understand places get busy and dinners linger but having called ahead and not being seated after a hour and a half is ridicules along with getting attitude form the staff is too much. It was very obvious that we were being treated like " just another tourist" It is not worth the aggravation to eat at this restaurant.
We called the Oyster Too resturant ( just 10 minuits up RT 28 ) the hostess was friendly, held us a table and we had a fantastic meal.

I heard years ago when I first came to this area that the Quarterdeck was the place to see celebrities and rub elbows with fun locals. That was not my thing and I certainly did not see any famous people there but its a nice dark place, it has character of a time past. The food is good, atmosphere if often bustling, no view but that is not everything, service is always good.
I guess its just not keeping up with all the other happenings in town so we just don't go there any more. Nothing is exceptional, but its a solid place with seafood options and a nautical theme.

We recently had a tasty dinner at this quaint restaurant on main street Falmouth
.We ordered the tomato bisque garlic soup and the clam chowder which were both
tasty and to our liking. The mussels over linguine pasta was also good .The bread
was warm and fresh with plenty of butter. The lobster mushroom appetizer was good
and the creamy butter sauce was great for bread dipping, Sirlion steak with lobster tail was
ok ,although the lobster tail seemed like a couple of shrimps in size though.
Service was good and friendly.
A good experience in all .
Will return again.
Price was 124.00 for dinner for 4 exclusive of tip.

We went to the Quarterdeck twice while in Falmouth. The first night our group had mixed reviews. Two meals were fantastic. The other two (blackened scallops) weren't so great. The scallops were overseasoned, so all you tasted was hot hot hot. The scallops underneath were delicious, just overpowered. The service was eh. On our second night, everything was fantastic. The service was exceptional and all our meals were excellent. Meals ranged from surf and turf to grilled halibut to lobster and everything was perfect. I would definitely go back, maybe they were just having an off night the first time.
