Our last visit to Inn on the Sound was three years ago, but Jan and Howard have maintained the creme de la creme of B & Bs. Their hospitality is unmatched, the Inn is immaculate, and the rooms are delightful--not prissy and old as in some places, but soothing and welcoming. A wonderful place for couples--young or old.

Inn on the Sound is a place that satisfies every traveler's need. The Innkeepers are Janet and Howard and they could not have been more accomodating. Hi Jan, Hi Howard, from Risa and Angel. The Inn itself is most welcoming from the moment you walk through the door. It felt like we belonged. They were able to accommodate us when our other accomodations didn't go as planned and made us feel like family. The view of the Sound from the front balcony is so relaxing. The rooms are exceptional. They are immaculate and the decor is beautiful. The attention to detail was found in every room and every aspect of our stay. They serve a gourmet breakfast every morning that starts your day off in the most perfect way. I can't say enough about the Inn on the Sound and I don't say this often about most places I have stayed except that if you get the chance to stay there you will not be disappointed. A truly beautiful Inn.

My mum and I just got back from a lovely break at Inn on The Sound. The accommodation was superb and our hosts were wonderful! Howard and Jan helped us to plan a day trip around the Cape, giving us maps alongside local knowledge and advice. The gourmet breakfasts were perfect, the room was extremely comfortable and we wish we could have stayed much longer.
Highly recommended.

Jan was a wonderful hostess at a beautiful inn. Great views of the ocean and the vineyard.

After having a few unregistered guests on the front porch of the inn Howard was a little cold, condescending and rude with his remarks. He told us that he 'dodged a bullet' by us having my mother and nephew (3 years old) on the front porch. We were doing nothing but talking and feel as though that we did not disrespect him, his wife or the Inn by doing this. Jan was very understanding but Howard was full of smart remarks.

We understand about the capacity restrictions due to fire codes, but we were outside. For the amount of money that we paid for the week, having our family come for a short, one hour visit doesn't seem like it should have been an issue. Jan did talk with us about it after it happened and wanted to make sure that we didn't feel as though we were disrespected by Howard.

I would recommend that if you stay at this Inn to deal only with Jan as she was a sweetheart and didn't seem to have a problem with our 'get together' with family (which we only see once a year). It was a nice place and I would recommend it for anyone who is looking to interact only with guests of the Inn and have a nice quiet stay. It was a relaxing environment. Thank you Jan for making our stay a nice one! :)

Our visit to the Inn on the Sound for Memorial Day weekend was one to remember: from the sublime location along the Falmouth coast of the Vineyard Sound; to the impeccable and finely detailed furnishings; to the delicious and beautifully presented breakfast; to the friendly, helpful, and sophisticated hosts. Sorry for the run-on, but I don't want to leave anything out. The Inn on the Sound is a gem. Would I repeat? In a heartbeat.

I looked at places to stay on the internet for at least 3 days before choosing Inn on the Sound and my husband and I could not have been happier with our choice. Jan and Howard are wonderful they make you feel right at home with drinks in the fridge to baked goods always out for your enjoyment.
The rooms are so clean and the attention to detail is better than any 5 star hotel that I have ever stayed in with wonderful sheets, towels and robes for your use. Now on to the breakfast which is amazing. If you have food allergies she will prepare you something special. We were so full we could not eat until late in to the evening.
I can't wait to go back again!!!!
