“The mattress in room 201”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

OMG! Can't believe how horrible the mattress in our room was! I don't think I've ever heard a mattress make those cranking metal noises. Couldn't move or sleep. Needs to be looked into! The beach is beautiful and the staff very helpful. We have been coming to Old Silver Beach for years because we love the warm waters of Nantucket sound. First time staying at Seacrest and hope to come back next year and stay longer.

I spent one night last weekend at the Seacrest for a bachlorette party weekend & it was amazing. Gorgeous private white sandy beach & crystal clear water...so picturesque and clean. Staff was awesome and accommodating. Definitely plan on coming here again with the family!

We had a great stay here and will return again. We arrived 1 hour prior to the designated check in time to find our room was already available, the room itself was spacious with more than enough space as well as ample storage for 3, we had a standard room but still had a partial ocean view which was a pleasure to wake up to every morning. The room also had a full sized fridge, iron and board which was very useful. The beach is fantastic and the $15 daily summer tax per room includes beach beds / umbrellas & towels, all of which are readily available whenever required. Wi-Fi was free and even available on the beach which came in handy.
There are plenty of organised activities for all age ranges as well as off site beach activities to keep teenagers amused. We found all of the facilities to be clean and well maintained and all of the staff we encountered (& there are lots of them) were polite and helpful. We ate in Reds and the food was good and the portions typically large, it was slightly more expensive than the restuarants in nearby (7 miles) Falmouth but not as bad as it could be.

Room Tip: We had a standard room on the 1st floor (room 740) and had a partial ocean view which was perfectly...

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night. Despite the fantastic location and stunning beach, the rest was a let down.
The rooms were definitely not of a "quality star" rated hotel as they were dirty and in need of upgrading.
Breakfast was good, but the staff were unattentive. They were obviously casual staff on their school breaks.

Please accept my sincere apologies for our failure to provide you with the level of service and facilities that you expected. Your comments go a long way in alerting us to areas that obviously need improvement. I have shared your comments with our Director of Housekeeping and our Restaurant Manager for them both to point out to their staff the impression that we left you with; certainly not the impression we strive towards.

We've been staying at this hotel for many years out of convenience because we know what to expect so it requires little planning. It is a three-star hotel with four-star prices. I like that it is on the beach, but the rooms cannot be mistaken for anything above three-star (look at the traveler photos, not the photos provided by the hotel). There are not many hotels with above three-star rating in falmouth so relatively, this is not a bad option.

Their customer service is also, well, three-star. Once, an unexpected scheduling conflict came up and we tried to cancel one night of the reservation. When we told the manager that we are loyal customers, she replied "I only see one reservation under your name" (this was my first time booking for my family) which I found unnecessary and rude of her to say. She also said "we have many customers who come back every year", just to show how little they care that we are loyal. I'm not sure how many of these customers will keep coming back if treated this way.

Room Tip: Book earlier if you want a room that has a ocean view. Customer service said they only have 13. The...

I apologize for you feeling that our prices exceed the value. We believe with recent renovations surpassing $15 million, our beautiful ocean front location, in-season; beach service including chaise lounges, umbrellas and beach towels, on site water sports rentals and spa service, as well as recreational activities daily from 7am to 9-10pm daily, weekend entertainment, and state of the art fitness equipment that we are priced accordingly. Our guest accommodations are priced based on location, demand, and room type. Our award winning Chef, Daniel Kenney, provides delectable dishes with exquisite presentation.

Also, I am sorry for what you perceived as rude customer service. Certainly, we strive to make your experience here a pleasant one, as we do appreciate guest loyalty. I do hope that you continue to choose us for your vacation destination.

Had a very pleasant stay at Sea Crest.

This is a great place for families. Lots of different things going on: beach, outdoor pool, indoor pool, toddler pool. Game room. Some activities which we didn't take part in.

The room was in excellent condition. Kind of standard decor, but everything worked and was clean. I was worried about the air conditioner, but it worked great and was reasonably quiet.

I like to list amenities, because sometimes it's hard to find on a website. Seacrest had all the standard stuff: hair dryer, shampoo & conditioner, iron & board, plenty of outlets for plugging in devices, free wi-fi which worked pretty well. Ice down the hall. Tap water was fine. My room had a small fridge (NOT mini-bar), but I'm not sure if they all have that. Not many hangers, though!

TV did not work well, and was disappointed in the channel selection. But we didn't watch it much.

We had a "courtyard view" room which also had an excellent view of the ocean. An oceanfront room would not have been worth the extra money to me, in this case. Perfectly fine view of the water and sunset.

Only ate at Red's, but the food was surprisingly good. In places like this, you can easily encounter food which is an afterthought, at best. The prices certainly were not cheap, but it is a beach resort after all. There are plenty of choices near by if you want to save a few bucks.

Overall a great experience at this hotel. The service was beyond exceptional. Want to call out Alex who went out of his way with charm and friendliness and snagged us the smaller ocean chairs we needed (they had run out, but he found us some anyway) and made sure we always had a drink in our hands! One thing to remember, bld. 1 is not as nice as the other bldgs. The website only posts pics of the newer, more updated rooms, but bldg 1 is more like a standard motel room. We were disappointed in the rooms overall. LOUD air conditioner that kept us up and low pressure shower. BUT, the restaurants were wonderful, and the service was just exceptional. Beach is lovely, but waves are non existent, so if you are there to boogie board, you will be disappointed. Private beach is well maintained. Would stay again.

Room Tip: Do not stay in bldg. 1
