“Nice Hotel for the area and will come back again”
Reviewed 19 August 2009

If you keep in mind that this is the Holiday Inn, then it is a true value. The area is beautiful, the pool was fun for the kids, the front desk staff was very nice. The Cape Cod bagel store is just down the street and fantistic. And the town has so many restaurants that we would not choose the steak house at the hotel. It is basic and not amazing.
Love to look out at the pond when driving out of the parking lot! Again, a very nice place for a pricey neighborhood.

Last weekend we went on a short trip to the Cape with my wife and 16 month-old son and my sister-in-law, who is visiting us from Europe. We selected this hotel because it was one of the few hotels that still had rooms available, and because I read some nice reviews about it online.
However, from the very start it turned out to be a bad decision. The room they first offered us had a nasty, moldy smell; I'm surprised they even have the nerve to try to offer this to their customers. After complaining at the front desk, we were offered another room, which was acceptable (although there was a distinct smell of deodorizer, probably to cover up some not so pleasant odors). The room itself was OK, nothing special, but had all the comfort we needed.
On the way to dinner in the Kansas City Steakhouse, we inquired at the front desk about the crib we had requested for our son at the time of reservation, and they said they were working on it... Apparently one of the cribs was broken and they were trying to locate the other one... This already seemed very strange to me: why would a hotel with 100 guest rooms only have 2 infant cribs?
When we went back to our room (after a dinner that was only average at best) we were told they would probably find the crib within 10 minutes or so. More than a half hour later, our son was already falling asleep and we didn't get any word from the front desk. When I went up to them to check, they just happily said: "Oh, we couldn't find you a crib, sorry!" It didn't seem like they were planning to let us know or to at least try to make an effort to find a solution for the night.
After some discussion (one of the employees was rather rude, acting like it was our fault, saying that they couldn't be expected to have 98 cribs; but from what I heard they apparently only had 2 anyway...), they proposed to give us a mattress from a rollaway bed, so we could put it on the floor so my son could sleep on it there. Luckily our boy was so exhausted from the day that he slept very tightly and didn't seem to mind it very much, but obviously this is not what we had in mind for a night that cost us more than $250. Also, it should not have been such a hassle to find a suitable solution for the night.
The next morning we checked out after a mediocre breakfast (and they actually even tried to charge our infant son for it!). After repeating our complaints to the front desk, they apologized for the inconvenience, but even then they still tried to put the blame on us because we checked in after 9 PM (9:20 PM we were there actually), which made it harder for them to help us with the crib because household personnel leaves at 9 PM... No type of compensations whatsoever were offered.
In summary, we have stayed in many hotels before and never had to complain like this to get some kind of service. Considering the outrageous $250 we paid for this stay, this was probably the worst value we ever got in any kind of hotel. We have had better service in hotels charging less than half this price. Will never ever stay in a Holiday Inn again!!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Falmouth, MA. It is an okay hotel, basic things, nothing out of this world; but it was clean and a nice place to lay your head for the night. It was pretty close to downtown, and we brought our bikes. It is close to the bike trail to Wood's Hole (which is really nice) and it is close to the beach by bike. It was nice we had the bikes because it is a bit too far to walk, and we didn't have to pay for parking!

Great vacation - easy to get to tourist spots, close to restaurants, shops and beaches but not downtown - lots of green. Great pool, rooms spacious and clean, very friendly service!

This hotel is very nice. We used priceline, so we got a great deal. However, it is further away from things than I thought. I wanted to stay closer to Hyannis, but didn't realize it's about a 45 minute drive. The room was beautiful and the staff very friendly! The only thing I would change is that I wish they had continental breakfast... they offer breakfast in room, but it's extra.

I recently visited the Holiday Inn in Falmouth and was a little apprehensive as the traffic on Friday was terrible. I called ahead to let them know I was meeting my husband that had gone down earlier and the hour was getting late. I assumed the facility would be sold out. When I called at 6:30, I was told that the manager was aware of my delay and had taken the liberty of checking us in as yes the facility was sold out. She even took the next very large step and delivered the keys to my husband who she was aware was participanting in a charity golf tournament. What a wonderful person and it certainly made the drive much less stressful.

Although the facility is going through some renovations, they continue to provide all our needs.

We stayed for two nights in late July. Our first room was in the "C" building, room 133, which is down the stairs and slightly below ground level. The musty smell of the room was overwhelming. We went out and about for the afternoon and arrived back 8:00 p.m. or so. The smell was such that I didn't think I really wanted to spend the night breathing in that aroma. I called the front desk and inquired about a different room. The person working was very pleasant (much moreso than the older woman who checked us in in the afternoon) and did give us a different room quickly. However, the second room smelled funky, too, and was in the same building. It wasn't as nasty an odor, and because we realized that most of the accomodations in the area appear old and tired, and because it was late, and because we knew we'd hardly be in the room, we stayed. Some rooms may have been redone, but neither of ours were, and were indeed vintage 1972 or so...including the vintage dust on the light switches and outlets in the bathroom. We did not use the restaurant or pool. The air in the pool area was cool (incredible when the hallway areas were stifling hot), even though the area was totally enclosed. HIghspeed internet crawled along at a snail's pace. I would not recommend this place.
