“Cozy place”
Reviewed 31 March 2012

We had guests from Japan so we wanted a quiet place to dine and talk. The guests were delighted with the Oppa Oppa beer. They said it was fruity. 2 of us had the scallops(they could have been a little bigger. One of us had the steak. He liked it. The other guest had the very nice salmon dinner. We enjoyed the creme brulee. Two of us didn't have alcoholic drinks because we were designated drivers.

As far as I am concerned, this is the best restaurant in Metro West!

“Great Food, Quaint, but Still a Bar”
Reviewed 5 January 2012

We decided to go for lunch, and were NOT disappointed! We had burgers and pasta dishes. The menu is small, but everything looked great. It had a touch of Asian, and included fish, chicken and beef.

Although small (about a dozen tables), it was not crowded. The interior was clean with hardwood floors and nice table settings. Even the restrooms were sparkling. The wait staff was friendly and answered all our questions about their unique menu. They even customized a dish for our very fussy 8-year-old.

The only drawback was the proximity to the bar and TV with the game playing. I would have preferred music, but I don't know how they would accomplish that.

The bottom line, it is a very nice restaurant with a great menu. It is an eclectic mix of finer dining and a sports bar. We'd go back again, but probably without the kids.

“Tasty Food and excellent service”
Reviewed 21 November 2011

We enjoyed a really nice dinner at Top Shelf this weekend. Everyone at the table ordered different entrees and all were pleased with their choices. The beef dishes were well seasoned and flavorful. The pasta entree was not over sauced and the pasta was done perfectly. For soup and appetizers the seafood chowder was a standout as was the crab cake. The desserts looked great but we did not order dessert.

Our server made the meal at Top Shelf very enjoyable. She was attentive without being intrusive. Each course was effeciently delivered however we never felt rished.

Top Shelf is small and the tables are close together. I would agree with the previous post regarding the noise level; however we did not find it difficult to talk at our table.

“very flavorful”
Reviewed 16 October 2011

We went to Top Shelf based on a recommendation. The food was very good but the acoustics are not. It is a small restaurant but the noise volume is very loud. Try the pan seared scallops with red pepper sauce-yummy. Their specialty is the prime rib. Unfortunately my husband's had a lot of fat and a huge bone but otherwise very good.
