We thought we were going to a Mexican restaurant, but walked in and saw New Orleans street signs and wondered if we were in the right place. Then, I saw "Don't drink the water, drink the margaritas," and felt a rush of memories from Pipi's in Puerto Vallarta -- but when the food arrived, that impression vanished quickly.
The menu was a hodgepodge of anything south of Massachusetts -- Pulled Pork & Ribs, Jambalaya & Bourbon St. Bowls, Burgers & Pastrami sandwiches, and Mexican food. We ordered Dos Enchiladas and the ground beef Burrito. The beans were inedible and the rice was dry and tasteless. I ordered a chicken and a beef enchilada. The chicken tasted like chicken & salsa and the beef tasted like salt. The burrito was different than any burrito we had ever tasted -- even Taco Bell take-out is better.
Our waitress was nice and showed concern about the fact that we left more than half our meals and didn't want a take-home box. We left her a good tip, but I wanted to leave a Mexican Cookbook as a tip for the cook.
