Owner description: Cape Ann Whale Watch in Gloucester, Massachusetts provides guaranteed whale sightings for every whale watching tour out to Stellwagen Bank, a national marine preserve about 12 miles off the coast of Gloucester deemed one of the "Top 5 Whale Watching Destinations in the World" by the World Wildlife Fund due to the wide variety of whale species whom migrate to the coast of Gloucester, Massachusetts every year to feed on the abundant natural resources. We provide the best whale watching in New England as it's an awe-inspiring experience which every human being should have the opportunity to appreciate. We make it a very special event. For over 35 years, Cape Ann Whale Watch has been dazzling whale watching enthusiasts with sightseeing tours aboard the largest, fastest and most elegant whale watching vessel in Massachusetts, north of Boston, Massachusetts aptly named "The Hurricane II" due to its immense size and speed as it descends upon its destination. Cape Ann Whale Watch's patrons have the opportunity to spend a lot more time with the whales than with other whale watching companies in Gloucester MA since "The Hurricane II" gets to the whales' feeding grounds with much more expediency as well as traveling home faster, therefore more time is actually spent observing whales including but not limited to Humpback Whales, Minke Whales, Northern Right Whales, Pilot Whales, Northern Right Whales, Sperm Whales, Sei Whales, Blue Whales (The Largest Whales in the Seven Seas yet seldom seen around Gloucester MA), Fin Whales, Atlantic White Sided Dolphins, Harbor Porpoises and whole host of other fascinating marine creatures as we deliver the best whale watching excursion in Massachusetts. "The Hurricane II" boasts 115 ft length with over 400 ft of whale watching room from the railings of the upper and lower observation decks for optimum whale watching conditions. There is a heated, furnished indoor cabin with a full service galley serving hot meals, snacks and cold beverages as well as a fully stocked bar with local brews, popular beer, wine and mixed drinks. Cape Ann Whale Watch is truly the finest whale watching tour in the Boston MA area offering the highest level of quality, comfort and service at the cheapest, most affordable price suitable for any family entertainment budget whether on vacation or a day trip. We offer AAA discounts on the adult tickets. We also offer reduced rates for seniors, children and military families. We go where the whales go. Our vessels communicate with each other as to the location of whales so we will go anywhere to see them on the North Shore or South Shore of Massachusetts including off the coast of Boston, Massachusetts: Salem MA, Newburyport, Cape Cod, Hampton NH, Rowley, Rockport MA, Danvers, Peabody, Swampscott, Revere, Winthrop or wherever else the whales may roam.

We went out on the boat on Oct. 14th and saw LOTS of whales. The crew was fabulous and very accommodating. We were also pleasantly surprised by the very reasonable prices at the snack bar! Go! You won't be disappointed!

“Great trip.”
Reviewed 15 October 2013

Had a great trip out. Staff were nice, boat was nice and we saw 5 whales including a mother and calf. One came up so close it was almost in the boat. I get really sea sick so I brought tablets ,$1, from inside the store, took one and as fine for the whole trip with. 2-3 swell. Fee was $48p/p but lots of people had coupons from various places. Because we saw whales only 10 miles we were only put for just under 3 hrs when trip is said to be 3-4 hours but I would rather be out there for shorter time and see whales than chase around for 4 hrs and see none. Would recommend.

“WHALES all around!!”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

Had a spectacular trip.. We saw eight humpbacks and a few had calves.... One wanted to play with the boat! Staff were informative, exceptionally friendly and staff are a true credit to their profession. It was all worth the two hour drive and we can't wait to come back next season..

“Awsome experience”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

Four of us went out on the boat Sept 24 and had the best whale watching ever. The water was pretty calm with only 1-2 ft waves. We only had to go out about 14 miles before finding whales. We saw Minkes and Humpbacks. The captian gets the boat within 50 to 100 feet of the whales and stops. The whales like to come to the boat to see what is going on. We had one Humpback whale swim right under the boat. It was so cool. You could see it's eyes open as it dove down to go under and then came up on the other side. The crew was great with spotting whales and giving lots of info about the whales. I recommend these guys if you want a good time whale watching. If I get back to that erea I will go out with them again.

“So much fun”
Reviewed 6 October 2013

We went thinking we would go out and maybe see some whales, maybe not, but Cape Ann stays out until you see something. We spent 5 hours on the boat, 1 hour in and out and 3 hours whale watching. The staff is so friendly and informative. They show so much excitement when they find the whales. We saw 6 different species that day and it was amazing!! We saw a mother and calf humpback whale, over 100 pilot whales, porpoises and other animals. They get you to the best view of the whales as possible without disturbing the whales. The boat (Hurricane II) is clean and large and you can move around as much as you like. There is a galley down below and restrooms on board. This was on my bucket list of things to do and I was not disappointed! I would definitely do this again the next time I'm in Gloucester. If you ever wanted an amazing trip, this is the one for you!
