Owner description: Picture yourself relaxing on the deck of this beautiful 65- foot schooner as she sails out of Gloucester harbor on a light southwesterly breeze. Join us for a two-hour sail and get a taste for what it was like to sail on a fishing schooner a hundred years ago. Help the crew raise the sails, or just sit back and take in the sights and sounds of Gloucester's coastline. Some of our weekend public sails feature music. We offer group rates. And we specialize in private charters for weddings, corporate entertainment, teambuilding, birthdays and more. The Lannon is a great place for a party!

A nice 2 hour sail off the coast of Gloucester. The price is expensive ( $40 per adult ) but we had a groupon for half the price. It is a clean vessel that is only 3 years old and the crew was very helpful. The seating capacity is 49 and it was a little tight because we were at full capacity but it was still enjoyable.

We had a wonderful time on the Thomas E. Lannon today. A must if you are visiting the historic town of Gloucester, MA. The Thomas E. Lannon has a great crew and they give you a "taste"of what it must have been like to sail out to new experiences in the North Atlantic.

We lucked out with the weather and the choice of how to spend our afternoon. The Thomas E Lannon is absolutely beautiful, in pristine condition that reflects her crew's love. Keeping her looking so spotless is, obviously, not a boring chore; more a labor of love. The crew were entertaining and interesting which filled the trip with life and added interest. My group all loved it. Thank you!

On the expensive side, we had a groupon and probably would not have gone without it as the price of $40/adult is high for a two hour sail. However it was very nice and relaxing the crew was entertaining and helpful and worked well with the customers. Every one commented on how relaxing it was and enjoyable - locals and tourists.

Had a GREAT time this 4th of July, (actually, the 3rd is the day Gloucester celebrates the holiday), aboard the schooner Thomas E. Lannon. The 2 hour cruise offers a brief history on the schooner itself, drinks are available for purchase ( I recommend the rum punch,YUMMIE). as we cruised around Gloucester harbor, the captain was very knowledable and answered any and all questions you may have about the harbor, it's history, or local food and entertainment. We took the fireworks cruise (offered on the holiday), which included a stop in the harbor right in front of the fireworks. The schooner has access to this very limited access area. so there were no other boats around us! They provided desserts, a virtual buffet of tempting treats, some provided by local shops. At the end of the fireworks, the captain fired off a working cannon, to thank the town for the fireworks display! The cost for all this is $50pp. It was a large schooner, so it stayed pretty steady throughout the trip. My mom, who was afraid of her footing, and being on a boat found it very accessable and got on and off with ease. She had never been on a schooner before, and was thrilled with the experience. A MUST TRY.
