Two small beaches; Half Moon is sandy with shade trees, Cressy Beach is pebbly & a great spot for hunting beach glass. Abundant grassy fields, a bandstand with occasional evening concerts, enormous boulders & rocky paths to explore, a fort with cannons, and views of Gloucester Harbor's fishing and sailing boats. The Cupboard offers ice cream and is a local favorite for fried clams. Plus a playground for the kiddies. A great spot to spend the day with the family.

You can spend all day here. You may like to call ahead to book a picnic table and bring a grill. There is a nice beach and walking trails. Lots of room to play outdoor games. Nice children's play area. Bathrooms with changing stalls and a shower. Dogs are welcome in the park. I didn't see any on the life guarded beach. There is a parking fee of $10, not sure if that was for the entire day. A place to get a bit to eat, dine outside or take-out. Welcome center.

This park has something for just about everyone. Beaches, playing fields, a large gazebo for concerts, playgrounds, picnic areas, and a some cool American history can all be found on this great park along the bay. It is the sight of the landing of the Dorcester company in 1623, which is marked by a gigantic bolder that rises above everything in the park. There are a couple staircases that will lead you to the top of the rock that give you great views of the bay and downtown Gloucester. I definitely recommend the portion of the Maritime Trail that starts at the park as well and runs to the Fisherman statue. Its a great walk along the bay and you can pick up a few more bits of history along it as well.

Attended a vow renewal service in the gazebo with a picnic right after. The grounds were gorgeously kept and everything was clean! The information center workers were as nice as can be and did a great job promoting their town. Views of the water from the picnic area were lovely. Gloucester is lucky to have such a great place for families to go!

This early in the season there is no charge for parking so we stopped here twice. Perfect spot for a picnic lunch. View from the beach is priceless. On our second trip we explored the huge rocks which offer different views.
