“Family Beach”
Reviewed 12 July 2013

Long Beach is a family beach with twin lights at one end and a two story motel at the other. It is mostly populated by owners and renters of the cottages. There is a fine sandy beach reached by stairs from the sea wall.

“4th of July on Long Beach”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

The 4th of July was special this year at Long Beach in Gloucester, MA. The weather was perfect beach weather, hot and steamy, making a dip in the cool ocean water very refreshing.
The fireworks on the beach were awesome, better than any town show I've seen, thanks to all the locals that provided the show for all of us!

“Beautiful Cape Ann Beach.”
Reviewed 14 March 2013

Spanning the shore from Gloucester to Rockport, Long Beach is a favorite of mine. When the tide is dead low, I can walk from Rockport Road in Gloucester to Penzance Road in Rockport covering 3 beaches in one walk . First, there in Long Beach and it's 1/2 mile of sand. Across the bridge and a challenging pile of rocks, is Cape Hedge and sometimes you can walk straight across to Pebbles Beach. Most of the time, you will need to head about South Street and down to Penzance. You could just keep walking, but tides must be watched to get back to Gloucester the same route! Sure, there is very little beach at high tide and there is virtually no parking save a small lot on the Gloucester side and a private Rockport lot on the other, but this beach is so beautiful and it's limited parking means it can never get as crowded as Good Harbor. Good Harbor is easy to get to and accessible. However, it is crowded and provides very little privacy if you like that. There are zero facilities here unless you are a lucky home owner.

“Great surf”
Reviewed 26 February 2013

A great beach to boogie board or surf...! This is a great beach to enjoy from June thru September. The later is the best month as the summer tourist season is subsiding but the sun and water are warm. Enjoy...!

“A Blast from Our Past”
Reviewed 22 February 2013

Visited Long Beach to see if it had changed from when we used to bring our eldest daughter to the Cape Ann Motor Inn. Not too many changes...! Enjoyed the view of the twin lighthouses and remembered previous visits. A great family beach with great scenery.
