Seen 25-30 whales feeding up close! The crew was friendly and informative. We couldn't have picked a more perfect day! I'd suggest going.

“Great whale watching”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

We (mom, dad, 12-year-old son, grandma and grandpa) went whale watching with 7 Seas on a Friday afternoon in June. We were lucky and had beautiful weather - just remember it gets cooler out on the ocean, so take a jacket. The boat was comfortable, and had plenty of room for the number of passengers; we could choose to sit outside and inside as we wished. We were lucky that there are unusually many whales in the area this summer (due to plentiful food for them this year), but they were further out this day. The captain decided to take us all the way out to Tillies Bank, although it was a longer ride, so that we would have the best chance of seeing them, and we sure did. We saw quite a few whales from a distance, but also got to spend time up close with a young humpback whale, and then a long while up close with two humpbacks who were displaying cooperative feeding behavior. The staff on the boat were great and kept giving us tips for where to stand to get the best view etc. (for instance, if you stand close to the door of the boat, you can quickly run through across to the other side of the boat, if the whales swim over to that side), and the naturalist onboard was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and we learned a lot about whales. Overall it was a great experience, amazing to be able to get so close to these enormous wild animals. We would love to go again, and would happily choose 7 Seas again as well.

Thank you, Laufam_travellers. That was a great review. Sometimes the whales are a little further out, but we will always go the extra distance if that's what it takes to get the best trip. I actually like going to Tillies Bank... we've had some really good whale watches there over the years!

Thanks again!

“Wonderful Experience”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

I traveled with family and friends down from Vermont. I was a little nervous at first because I am prone to seasickness, but the waters were calm and we were fortunate enough to see 4 whales. The staff was great and the boat was clean. We had an excellent time and plan on doing it again very soon.

“Great trip!”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Went out yesterday 6/30/14, on the morning trip. We had a beautiful day. The boat was spotless (bathrooms too). The galley with snack bar was very nice and offered a variety of snacks. They offered a small on board learning area with books and a monitor with "real time" gps tracking of the boats location. The crew was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. The whale viewing was breathtaking! Best whale watch we've been on..We will be back.

Thank you Kim, that was a great review.

Thank you for noticing how clean the boat was... especially the bathrooms (it's actually written in the crew handbook that the boat is only as clean as the bathrooms! :-)

I'm glad you had a good time whale watching with us and we look forward to seeing you again.

“Great time and NOT OVERCROWDED!”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

This was a thrilling and fulfilling trip! The captain communicates with other boats to find the whales...we saw three species of whales! The boat was capable of holding over 100 people, but they don't allow that many on the boat so there is room for all passengers to maneuver around the boat when coming in close to see the whales. You can sit inside at a booth with table and enjoy concessions from inside the boat. There are seating options outside too, but on the ride out there that can be chilly and possibly wet depending on the weather conditions. We preferred to be inside during the travel to and from, and go outside when we were cruising around the whales. When on the deck to see the whales, upstairs by the rails or on the main deck at the front of the boat is best for optimal viewing. Our party consisted of a 62, 55, 38, 35, 14, and a 10 year old. We ALL LOVED this experience!
