“A Gloucester Gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2007

I'm so sorry we found this place on the last day of our vacation because we would have gone every night to sample such amazing cuisine. Great bread with olives and fine olive oil served as we arrived. My husband had the Seafood Rice ($21.95) (loaded with fresh seafood including meaty snow crab legs) in a Portuguese tomato sauce, with just enough kick to make it interesting. I had the Azorean Seafood Platter (loaded with seafood, too, including tender Calamari) ($17.95, market price) with the most amazing molho vilao sauce (garlic, vinegar, pepper, and other savory ingredients). The fried coating was light, done just to perfection (the haddock flaked, wasn't dry) and the calamari was not rubbery, the scallops sweet, no grit, and the dish was served with fresh, unadorned green beans. For dessert, the Tarta de Ananas (pineapple coconut cake in a chocolate crust), was sublime. The server was knowledgeable and helpful, checking back several times to make sure everything was ok. We left with smiles on our faces and full bellies!
