The latte was nice. The lemons for the lemonade were cut right after the order. The place has an atmosphere, a bit on the cold side, but still nice.

Be patient. Coffees made by hand and on the weekday morning we visited only one person was a maker. She was most unhurried and attentive to local regulars. The coffee was delicious if very very pricey. But coffee elsewhere is not anywhere near as good. So this is your best option.

Sat by the fire. Grilled cheese is to die for! Great selection of sandwiches and other featuring Rubiner's amazing cheeses. Reasonable pricing.

We'd done our homework online and thought Rubi's cafe would be the ideal spot for a light lunch. We ordered two meat / cheese platters and a bottle of white wine (the wine, by the way, was excellent) between four adults...this light lunch cost $95. When the waiter brought over four one third of the way filled glasses we asked if he could bring the bottle to the table. We were informed (for the first time) that Rubi's only sells wine by the glass. What was left (we saw the bottle show up on what appeared to be the owner and/or manager's table next to ours) could have easily been split among the four members of our party and the glasses would still been filled to less than half their capacity. We were told bread would be forthcoming. But we had to ask for napkins, plates and silverware...we never did get forks. The owner and/or manager mumbled under his breath "We've done this before!" As I mentioned, he sat with a woman at the table next to ours...and complained about us. Hey, every eatery has an off day but rudeness is never called for or appreciated. Very disappointed...
