I attempted to book a same-day reservation with this motel in February through Expedia. When I clicked on the rate, a screen came up saying the rate was no longer available. I tried it again and the same thing happened. We wound up making a reservation at a different motel in Great Barrington and staying there that night. Apparently, I'm not sure how, Monument Mountain got my credit card information, said I had made two reservations and failed to show, and charged me twice. I'm still not sure if they got the information from the other motel, if Expedia sent the information in error (they say they didn't), or if they somehow took it from a "name your own price" offer on Priceline that they rejected, but they have refused to return the charge, and I'm still fighting it through my credit card. Incidentally, as I mentioned, I stayed in Great Barrington that night, and there were clearly not many people staying in town, so even if it had been a legitimate misunderstanding, they didn't lose any business, but I don't think it was anything but pure and simple attempted theft. I wouldn't deal with these people. They are extremely unscrupulous and belligerent.
