On this Thanksgiving Day I want to send my Blessings and Thanks to two absolutely dedicated and wonderful Innkeepers ... in the Berkshires to the amazing smells coming from Innkeeper Lynda's always active kitchen, a cup of warm spirits set by the lit fire and the feeling of cozy and warmth of a antique colonial home! Andre, Lynda's husband is as gracious as she and will be glad to guide you wherever your wish while traveling there among the beautiful fall foliage and trails... additionally you may visit with the rooster and chickens and rabbits on their property and know you are getting the freshest of fertilized eggs for a scrumptious breakfast as well as being able to still drink clear naturally chloring free "sweet fresh water"! so goes the name of this charming Inn... Lynda and Andres are such kind and caring soles and works so incredibly hard to make your stay comfortable and complete! All her meals are organic and healthy making this Inn expecially good for both a Foodie and a Vegetarian or one who believes that "Food be Thy Medicine" and "You are what you eat" ... That being said... The Inn at Sweet Water is good medicine for the sole and you eat and sleep so well you can't help but feel the stress melt away from the moment you walk in the door and smell all the fragrences of "coming home"!

My partner and I decided to go to the Inn at Sweet Water in order to take in the fall colors (my partner is Welsh). I can honestly say that our stay at Sweet Water was the highlight of our trip! The property is amazing, the rooms well appointed and lastly the food was perfection. I have several dietary issues and all of them were accounted for in an absolutely splendid breakfast. The couple who own the property are incredibly engaging and warm too. They even left out a Welsh whiskey to make us feel more at home. To top it off, we forgot a jacket in the closet and the owners were good enough to express post it to me the very next day. We can not thank them enough for our excellent stay.

Room Tip: Room one was lovely

We decided to stay here for one night on a last-minute weekend getaway to New England and it was amazing! We were the only visitors in the inn that night but the house still felt very cozy and welcoming, and Andrei even built a fire in the fireplace for us. Great selection of foodie-pleasing reads, including an entire wall of cookbooks and various magazines (Lucky Peach, New York Magazine, etc.) Breakfast was ridiculously good and all homemade, including scones and sausages and omelettes from the chickens kept in the yard. There's also a shy cat on the premises who might let you pet her. If we could afford it we'd probably try to make it a regular thing to come up here to escape from the city. Really couldn't ask for better!

We've stayed at the inn three times over the past three years and can only echo what's been said by others. Linda and Andrei are the consummate hosts. The inn is delightful, comfortable, clean and full of character. And Linda's cooking is spectacular – the perfect way to start the day. We've spent time in many inns, and the Inn at Sweet Water Farm and its owners are among the best.

We stayed at the inn as a base for our holiday, 7 nights in all. It's location is great for getting to NY State Connecticut and Mass touring. Only 2.2 hours from NY City it's easy to get to either from there or Boston.

Breakfast - awesome! Freshly prepared and cooked to order with local ingredients meant a delicious start everyday. Healthy portions meant that we never felt over stuffed full of food and unable to move but were a great way to start the day with little much else needed to fortify us for the rest of the day. Lynda took great care in food preparation and was flexible in the kitchen to accommodate my wierd dietary requirements, which was a concern before we left for the US.
Wonderful home bakes were available as an added extra at breakfast but also as a little jewel when returning home from a busy day hiking/touring.

A wonderful lounge with open fire is available for guests to relax, unwind or meet with other travellers at the end of a busy day. A library of books is available for you to enjoy or if the need of stimulation a chess board is there to challenge the brain. Warm and inviting this is a shared area to enjoy with a complimentary drink, whether you fancy a drop of whisky, steaming mug of pot of tea or a flavoursome coffee.

We stayed in Room 5, which has an en-suite shower room, which pumped ample hot water and was no more an no less than was needed. The kingsize bed was very comfy with crisp white bedlinen and a good nights sleep was enjoyed every night, a large easy rocking chair provided a cosy place to sit and plan the following days activity or just to read. Sweet well water is in the room and is delicious, already missing it.

From here you can take walks from the door access trails and be on main roads to superb locations and hikes with ease. Great Barrington has some great eateries nearby and there are a whole host of other restaurants to satisfy your needs for an evening meal or lunch. A general store is just across the road.

All in all it was a pleasure to stay here, Andrei & Lynda were great hosts and we recommend a stay with them if you have any intention of visiting this area. For us it was relaxed, peaceful and welcoming, if we ever go back to this area we would definitely rebook.

Inn at Sweet Water is what all B&B's aspire to.

Room Tip: If you want a bath tub then choose a room with one. Room 5 overlooks the back garden and is closest to the chickens, so if you want to be farthest away from Sweetie, don't book this room.
