The Windflower is in a lovely area, just near the town of Great Barrington. Unfortunately, it's situated on the main road (a two-lane highway), so if you want to sit out on the porch you'll be treated by the sounds of traffic rushing by. The Inn is a lovely old building, but definitely feels a bit...tired. Our shower stall had lines of mildew in the grout, weather stripping visibly sagged in the windows, and one just got the sense that the entire place was overdue for renovation. Small efforts would go a long way to making the place look nicer - get rid of the cheap plastic and metal-framed canopy over the bed - the flowery wallpaper is decoration enough. Pull up the dark pink wall-to-wall and reveal the centuries-old wood floors (a few low-cost area rugs would brighten the place up so much versus that dark and dingy carpeting everywhere). Put breakfast cereals in nicer containers instead of just lining up cardboard boxes on a table. Offer two hot options at breakfast (who wants to eat french toast the day after pancakes?). The Inn is clean, but needs some TLC - we'll try somewhere else next time.

Stayed at the Windflower Inn for one night over a summer weekend in July. The Inn was in a quiet location, had a golf course right across the street (if you're intersted in playing golf). The inn was very clean and quaint. We met the innkeepers Claudi and John who were just great! They were very welcoming, and also were not pushy. They know how to treat guests. The room was a great room for the price. Then the country breakfast was fantatstic, eggs, bacon, coffee, cereals, muffins, etc. Great place if you're staying a short stay or long stay. The Berkshires are a fantastic place and the Windflower adds to the charm. If you're planning a family get together or just to be with friends, or just to be alone, pick the Windflower.

Room Tip: Ask Claudia the innkeeer for advice about the rooms and check the internet site.

Stayed 2 nights in large upstairs room. Very clean. Older furnishings. Innkeepers very friendly and helpful, even providing a great jogging route. Breakfast nicer than typical continental fare. Only 4 TV stations, but who needs them in the Berkshires anyway. Had a vibrant wi-fi. Water too cold for swimming, but pool looked clean. Offered towels to sit by pool. Room quiet; could not hear people in other rooms. Had window a/c, but open windows sufficient.

The Windflower Inn met all of our expectations and then some. The hosts were gracious and engaging, the surroundings peaceful and roomy and the breakfasts elegant and satisfying. This is definitely a place to get your batteries recharged. There are many things to do, sights to see and fine restaurants to enjoy in Southern Berkshire County, making the Windflower a perfect choice to experience and savor the area. We are definitely coming back.

The Windflower Inn is a beautiful B & B with a variety of spacious rooms that are tastefully decorated. The pool, lovely grounds (10 acres) and screened porch offered a wonderful place to relax during our 7 day stay. This B & B has been family-owned and operated for 20 years, and John and Claudia are gracious hosts giving their guests personal attention. The full breakfasts were delicious and fresh, including the homemade breads and baked goods. Afternoon tea and snacks were an additional treat! Being close to Great Barrington was a plus - this town offers a bit of everything.... nice shops and great restaurants. It was just a short drive from Windflower to all the tourist attractions, Tanglewood, and hiking. We hope to stay at the Windflower again and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the Berkshires!!
