“Perfect getaway spot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2014

My husband and I have reached the point in our lives when we can begin to take short getaways without our boys, who are now in their teens. We chose The Brandt House based on online information and reviews. We were not disappointed! We were greeted by Vicky, who was gracious and inviting. Sean was a fantastic host and his staff is wonderful as well. The house is elegantly decorated with a homey feel. Everything is immaculate. We chose room 9, however, after a few quick peeks into vacant rooms, we are convinced that there isn't a bad choice! Even though there were other visitors during our stay, the house was extremely quiet, especially at night, providing for an uninterrupted sleep. Bathroom soaps and lotions were a favorite of mine..so much so, I have already ordered some online! The second floor sunroom was a cozy spot to read, watch tv or chat. The rear porch with its comfortable wicker set, provided a nice space to sit and listen to the birds and relax. Breakfasts were simple ( midweek) but very satisfying. Fresh fruit, cereals, homemade breads, granola, yogurt, coffee, tea, juices....and Sean was more than willing to cook up an egg of your choice. He recommended several restaurants in the area. We settled on Hope and Olive and enjoyed one of the most delicious meals ever! We traveled to nearby Historic Deerfield, Yankee Candle, Richardson's Candy and my husband enjoyed locating Poet's Tower. A quick climb to the top provides fantastic views of the towns below! We drove, but found out later that there is a foot path starting in the rear of the house. We will definitely return to enjoy this beautiful home and it's amazing staff!

I had never been in a B&B before, so my wife and I decided to try Brandt House for our first time while visiting our grandchildren over the 4th of July. What a great experience! We knew that it would be intimate, and we met a diverse selection of guests over the breakfast table. Chris, one of the staff, made an awesome cinnamon cake and Heather, our awesome chef, prepared some great morning dishes. Our room was spacious and well kept. The entire house was comfortable and cozy. The sitting room, with it's expansive couches and views, was wonderful! We can't wait to go back and see our grandchildren, but we also can't wait to see Brandt House again - like and old friend, even for our first time in a B&B!

The big beautiful rooms at Brandt House have been our home away from home for many years, ever since we discovered this delightful B&B. We have always been treated with the utmost courtesy. Furthermore the helpful, kindly staff remembers our preferences and makes sure that they are fulfilled whenever we visit. In our favorite room there is always a refrigerator already cold, a table to spread out our projects on, and enough hangars for our clothing. These small kindnesses add up to a very satisfying experience time after time. We have visited Brandt house at every season of the year and rejoiced over its lovely grounds and well kept gardens. Best of all, for those with allergies to dust and pollens, the rooms are spotlessly clean and the whole house presents an atmosphere that is welcoming and pristine. We know that when we arrive we will be welcomed with iced tea, my husband's favorite, and a hot water jug for my hot tea, as well as smiles and good cheer every time. The breakfasts are outstanding and made to order if need be. This is such a very special place to come, and we are most grateful to be able to stay there.

Room Tip: We like Room 9, yet all are special and lovely.

We'd chosen this B&B for its proximity to the Mohawk Trail. While it looked great on the web, it was even better than expected. The house stands out on a hill with its beautiful manicured gardens. Upon entering, one cannot but admire the warm and elegantly-decorated interior. The veranda and back gardens reveal an oasis of peace and beauty.

A most pleasant surprise awaited, in part due to the low season, we were upgraded to a suite (Nbr. 1), which we absolutely loved and appreciated.

We had dinner at Hope & Olive nearby (see separate review) and enjoyed a delicious expanded continental breakfast in the morning. Egg dishes were also offered. We noted that during the week-end, a hot entrée is also served.

We would have loved to extend our stay. We would return without hesitation.

Room Tip: Suite Nbr. 1 has an extra bed in a niche. Had a peak at several rooms and they all look gorgeous and...

My husband and I had a nice get away at this beautiful place. The owner was so welcoming, the place was lovely and cozy. WE walked down town Greenfield for a nice dinner and came back, sat at the B&B Zen garden, enjoyed the peepers. The brandt house is located in a quiet neighborhood. We had the opportunity to interact during breakfast (simple and delicious) with couple of travelers in the main room. We enjoyed ourselves and this place allowed us to do that.

Our experience was wonderful. Check-in was easy as Sean met us upon arrival at about 1500 hours. Sean, and all the Brandt House staff, are friendly and helpful which made our stay carefree.

Our room was #9 on the second floor. The room was clean and bright, as windows faced two directions. The walk-in closet had enough room and drawer space to accommodate fresh clothes for a week. (We stayed three nights.) There was a small refrigerator in the closet, a fireplace across from the comfortable and warm king bed, a spacious sitting area with a TV (unused by us). The bathroom has a tub/shower combo. The only outside noise, which was minor, came when a large party arrived one evening.

The large landing on the second floor served three additional rooms, as well as, the sun room. Our group got together in the sun room each night as there was seating for six. There was a TV in the sun room. Breakfast was served in the dining room on the first floor. The breakfast selection was varied, delicious, and satisfying. An adjoining living room provided a nice gathering spot. There was an additional spacious common room farther from the dining room.

The Brandt House Inn is located on a hill on the east side of Greenfield between downtown and Temple Woods Park. The neighborhood is quiet residential and the Inn is located within walking distance to Historic District on Main Street. We walked to Village Pizza which is in the Historic District. Both the Yankee Candle flagship store and Richardson's Candy Kitchen are within 10 miles of Greenfield. We definitely recommend this B+B and plan to stay in the future.

Room Tip: The second floor is comfortable and convenient for groups that require more than one room.

Very pleasant bed and breakfast in a residential neighborhood but close to downtown Greenfield. Very convenient to I-91. The house is simply beautiful on both the outside and inside. Rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable. Food is fine, staff warm and helpful. My wife and I were married at this inn and stayed recently to celebrate an anniversary. It is a fine venue for special occasions or just for a quiet, private stay.
