A local coffee shop with a dedicated clientele. Sandwiches are fresh - don't miss the egg sandwiches for sure - and there is always something new. Service can be a little spotty so just be patient. Their chicken chili is outstanding!

Looking for a quaint coffee house, we happened upon this place, hidden in a plaza. The food was luke-warm, and flavorless, the coffee worse than that found in a gas station rest area. Not worth their prices. Seemed like a nice place to meet up with someone - if you don't mind crappy coffee/food.

We have been going here every Saturday for lunch for over one year. The artwork on the walls is tastefully presented and often for sale at a decent price. It changes depending on what local artist is currently exhibiting. I like that blackbird offers organic and local coffees, teas, and vegetables for their sandwiches. Since I am vegetarian, I often get their Mediterranean salad with baby spinach and a wide variety of fresh veggies. It's huge! The chalkboard menu lists their specialty paninis and wraps. My favorite is the cucumber wasabi hummus wrap which is always chock full of hummus, romaine, roasted peppers, cukes, and cheese. The coffee drinks are good and fresh MOST of the time which is one of the few issues I have with this cafe. The baked goods, particularly cannolis, scones, and croissants, are very popular. By the time I'm there to get a scone, most of the time they're all gone. Sometimes it doesn't appear like the bakery cabinet is overly stocked. But the business is very busy and waitstaff are quite friendly as well as the owners Luke and Katie. Occasionally the coffee is burnt from being on the burner to long or from being the " end of th batch". Between 12:30 and 2:00 it is usually pretty busy so go early to get a good seat! Staff are very accommodating to gluten free diets and whatever request you may have. I gave a 4 out of 5 because of the fact that they i give chips instead of vegetables as a side on the sandwich plate. I just ask for my wrap sans chips or my salad sans bread.
