Make sure you have a reservation......and then get ready for some awesome food at some very decent prices. Wife and i both had the Veal...so tasty. Shaded a bruschetta...she loved it, i like mine w the tomatoes cold, but the goat cheese made up for it. AND THEN, dessert.... oh my....had a sampler......the cannoli.....oh my...will make u forget the gun, it also included two profiteterole's....if you dont know what they are....i promise you will never forget them, also a piece of cheescKe on the sampler....ehhhhh. We had a party of 4 and had reservations. We were there on a Friday night and it was full. Service was attentive and friendly. The seafood was all fresh and the pasta was perfectly prepared. The Buca's Bolognese was wonderful. If you want seafood, co for the Cacciucco with cherrystones, mussels, scallops, calamari, shrimp and fresh catch. If you're in the area, this is the place to go. Have some fresh mozzarella or the salsiccia as antipasti. Really, there was nothing bad about this restaurant.

We dined @ Buca's at the suggestion of our concierge in mid-September and had a mixed experience. First of all Tuscan and Roadhouse seem to be sort of unusual combination and that's what we found inside; some really good, some not so good. First of all, we had a reservation but when we arrived (on-time) our table wasn't ready. While we were standing there waiting, 2 young guys walked in that obviously knew the host and asked for a table. Even though they didn't have a reservation (he asked), they were seated w/in 5 minutes while we still waited (we were 2 also). REALLY???? When we questioned him regarding this, the host said that he planned to seat us in front of the fireplace and that table would be opening up soon. We couldn't see into the dining room so this appeased us, thinking it would be romantic and warm as it was kind of cold in there. When we were finally seated (20 minutes after our reservation and there isn't a service bar where you can sit/wait/have a glass of wine), the "fireplace" was a fake one with candles in it and there was some sort of odd divider (not fixed in the floor, it almost fell over on our table a couple of times) between the table next to us and ours. Those tables were VERY close together. NOT romantic at all and still cold. The wine list and our waitress were both just average. We had Fire In The Hole (Fried Calamari with Hot Peppers, Tuscan Tomato Sauce) and Carciofi Ripieni Alla Buca (Grilled Artichoke Hearts Stuffed with Gorgonzola & Mascarpone Cheeses, Wrapped with Prosciutto, Balsamic Reduction) for starters. Both were excellent, esp. the artichoke hearts. I had the Salsiccia & Gamberetti Picante (Hot Italian Sausage, Sauteed Shrimp and Portabella Mushrooms in a Spicy Marinara, Papardelle Pasta) and my husband had the Vitello Rosa (Veal Scallopine, Red Wine, Balsamic Butter Sauce, Roast Tomatoes,Sun Dried Cherries, Roasted Potatoes) for our main entres and both were very good. The portions were large; I took 1/2 of mine home. So while the food was good, we wouldn't go back there. There's loads of great places to eat in that area where the service is also good.
