Had seared scallops with asparagus infused risotto. Five star quality and remindful of great French Bistros I have had the pleasure of dining throughout the years. The hostess is from the Bordeaux region of France and boy does she know how to run a restaurant! I am amazed that little Harwichport comes up with 5 star dining but this place is the best of the best! Don't miss it. My wife had the duck and is still raving about it. Suffice it to say we are foodies and I will return.

Mooncussers Tavern has been on our list of restaurants to try because of their Tapas options, but crowds or private party closings interferred with past attempts to eat there. On our recent off-season visit to the Cape, we went early in the evening and had a Tapas meal of hand-cut fries, duck infused sliders, steak n' eggs and mushrooms al ajillo. Our waitress was very helpful in advising on the quantity or size of each item and since we didn't know how many small plates would satisfy our appetites, she brought our first selection to share and allowed us to order more as the meal progressed. With the last mushroom dish, she brought additional bread to the table so we could finish its sauce. We enjoyed each item we selected and were completely satisfied with the meal and our dining experience.

WE have driven by this restaurant and several times since moving to the Cape a couple of years ago but never had the chance to stop. Tonight though was different. A friend called and suggested a small group of get together at Mooncussers and have drinks and dinner. There were seven of us total and when we arrived at about 6:00pm they had live music in part of the restaurant. As we wanted to spend sometime talking and catching up we opted for a table in the bar area. Sitting was almost immediate and we were right near some very large windows. Annie the owner had greeted us we entered and while speaking to her we learned she was from France and she runs the place with her two sons. They do a great job keeping the place warm and friendly. Some of our party ordered tapas and some of us ordered dinners. All of the food arrived at the same time and it was all nicely presented. The tapas were large and there was plenty to share. Two people had the day boat scallop entre and I had the foie burger. Everything had been individually prepared and was delicious. The foie burger was a duck infused burger with a fried egg and garnish. It was probably the best burger I have had, and I have eaten many burgers around the country. The staff gave us plenty of time to sit and talk and never rushed us. Any requests for drinks were promptly filled. We had a combination of bills in terms of who paid for what and once again the staff was very accommodating. Truly a very uniques and satisfying expoerience.

This location has hosted several different restaurants over the past years, but the current owners have it right. The food here is just outstanding. The Tavern side, where you can sit at the bar or at little tables- the restaurant occupuies many rooms of an old, Cape Cod house- offers a Tapas menu extrodinaire- you should try every single item on it! The dining room side, slightly more formal, also offers some of the Tapas choices, and afull a la carte dinner menu. The service is attentive but not stuffy. There is live music some nights. Really a stand-out restaurant in an area with many to choose from.
