Owner description: The seals of Monomoy are a rare treat seen close up from the shallow drafting seal watch vessel Perserverance. You will glide though narrow channels and into isolated lagoons where hundreds, sometimes thousands of Gray Seals swim and lay out along the shore. And you will spy sea birds and once in a while, the shadow of a great white shark passes by. Some of the best ocean fun adventure for your family.

Many, many trips to the Cape but never took this ride! It was great. Clean, comfortable boat with experienced captain and guide. Saw a lot of seals--up close--and we were able to view beaches and beautiful scenery not appreciated from the land. Great lesson about the power of nature and the ability to change the coastline. Nice bargain for $35!

We have never taken a sight seeing boat ride while on the Cape, this was well worth it. It is 1 1/2 hours long, $35.00 per person. The guides onboard were very informative of the area, wildlife such as the birds and seals. When we reached the islands, we were amazed the amount of seals that live there. They swim all around the boat and you are in about 2 feet of water. We are planning a return trip next year.

This tour was only ok. Little boring... we cruised around three different harbors looking at houses and birds for about 40 min of the tour.. then maybe a total of 15-20 actually seeing seals and we barely got outside the harbor. Average age on boat was 70. And they dont give you any cool seal fun facts or anything... people were falling asleep! Lol. Might want to look at a different more upbeat tour if you are 40 and under!

This was a great excursion. We made reservations a day in advance without having a problem. The boat takes you out right to where all the seals hang out. Very cool to see so many.
Like others have said, use the restroom before you get on, since there isn't one on board. Also, you are allowed to eat on board, so you can bring snacks.
We picked a windy and rough day. The sea was really choppy and the boat bounced around A LOT and we got sprayed a bit (they said it was about as rough as they would go out in). Just something to be aware of if you do or don't like that sort of thing. I also was glad I brought a sweatshirt and a telephoto lens for my camera.

Took the seal tour as part of a long weekend in Chatham. It was a beautiful day. We were able to sit in the front of the boat which was the perfect seat. My favorite part of this was that unlike whale watches that I had been on where you don't see a whale. . there were at least a dozen seals. There is also a bit of a tour where landmarks are pointed out. This was totally worth it. Would recommend it to anyone. One note. . there is no bathroom on board.
