Boy, did I want to like Beachfire! Why is it so hard to find a waterfront restaurant with decent food? Despite the spectacular sea-side setting of this place, or maybe because of it, we get the typical phoned-in, mediocre fare of every other waterfront seafood joint from the Mid-Cape to the North Shore. (Think greasy fried seafood; burgers; limp, over-dressed salads and Costco chicken wings. I will, however, amend that to say the chowder here is good.) This place has so much potential to be a really killer year-round restaurant, it's such a shame to see yet another waterfront spot coasting by on its pretty view and ability to sell booze. (I would LOVE to see Gordon Ramsey get his mitts on this place!)

Do go to this place with a full stomach and lowered gustatory expectations on a beautiful summer evening to enjoy drinks, excellent live music and a spectacular water view. If you squint past the sloppy clientele and beleaguered wait staff and don't eat the food you can almost imagine you're in La Jolla. Wear your drinking shoes, (ie NOT heels) because the footing on the outdoor terrace can be a little uneven. Also, unless you can find a spot on the street, expect to pay $7 to park in the Nantasket Beach lot. Cramped quarters in the restroom, too. (And would it kill them to empty the overflowing trash in there?)

The restaurant had a musty, old smell which immediately turned us off. The bartender was being trained by the manager and we waited 10 mins at the bar (there were only 2 other people) to get a drink. The manager was making chocolate milkshakes for all the employees. We left after our drink unimpressed.

I love the location right on a hill overlooking the ocean, beautiful spot. We went for lunch, it was not that busy but the wait for our food and drinks was very long, once we got our food it was good but not quite what we asked for but after waiting so long we just ate it. People around us were complaining about the same thing and a local couple said there always is some issue when they go to the Beachfire but the location is so great it's hard to stay away on a beautiful summer day! So if you have a lot of time and patience it is a nice place.

Cold cooked clams, cold lobster, missed drink orde, no lobster cracker and generally slow service. Appetizer of oysters was late and didn't appear until we asked. Nice view of a lovely beach but the restaurant and service leaves you with a bad memory.

Incredible view! Love the atmosphere of the outdoor dining patio, firepit, & bar overlooking Nantasket beach. Its nestled into the cliff at the edge of the beach with a panoramic view of the whole beach area. The fish and chips, chowder and the fish sandwich are excellent. Expect a wait at dinnertime in the good weather. But you can hang out at the outdoor bar or firepit.
