“Wonderful 2 nights”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

Lovely place in the village of congerstone. We booked a 2 night stay as we had a wedding to attend at the nearby zoo (Twycross) Our room was lovely and clean and at the top of the house.
We slept with the window wide open and in the morning was woken up to the sounds of the countryside - lovely. Breakfast was served at a time that suited us and was delicious and hot. The hosts were attentive and nothing was too much trouble - Thank you

A wonderful experience from the moment you step into the house and meet the owner, the bedroom was very nicely furnished and as we were to discover later the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was a sumptuous feast and makes one realise why it is better to stay in a good B n B rather than a hotel.

Another plus is that although it is situated in a rural village it is not far to the motorway net work circling Birmingham.

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending a wedding at nearby Twycross zoo. Its a beautiful building, obviously lovingly looked after by the owners Tim and Pat for whom nothing was too much trouble. The room was spacious, clean and superbly decorated and the breakfast, well, I don't think I have had better. All in all, a fab little B&B, highly recommended.

- the attic room with wood beams was spacious yet cosy, with an superbly comfortable super kingsize bed. The owners were absolutely charming, so warm and welcoming and the breakfast was one of the best we ‘ve ever had in a B&B- exceptional quality bacon and sausage, & roast cherry tomatoes on the vine (the rest was good too!) and we loved the fresh fruit / fruit compotes and other choices. We thoroughly recommend this B&B. The village is in the countryside so a few miles drive to main roads but we actually enjoyed the quietness of the location very much. There is a good pub for evening meals within a short walk.

I have been staying at the Old Ivy House on a regular basis over the past few months and it has been a wonderful experience in every way. Now I have moved on to a new assignment that will take me elsewhere, and I will miss the place.
Tim & Pat have got it totally right and I hope that they continue to thrive in the future and I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great and great value for money

Stayed for one night recently whilst attending a friend's party nearby. Lovely B&B in attractive building. Our hosts were extremely warm and friendly- nothing too much trouble, breakfast at whatever time we wanted, special requests (kippers!) accommodated, excellent food. Rooms spacious and comfortable with tasteful decor and modern bathrooms. Reasonably priced at £90. Only reason for not giving a 5 was due to noise of saniflow toilet system (which went off every time any of the taps/shower/toilet were run) and low shower pressure. One of those things in an old building trying to accommodate extra facilities but just something we were not used to and which was a bit annoying. Wouldn't (and didn't) affect a short stay but worth commenting if planning a longer stay. Would recommend.

My husband and myself, along with several family members, stayed here the night before, and the night of, our wedding and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The couple who run the B & B were attentive, very welcoming and friendly and the rooms were immaculately kept. All rooms were lovely with lots of charm. My parents have said they will be staying here rather than at our house when they visit us next!

Room Tip: The Bosworth suite is the largest and has the best views but it is up 3 flights of stairs!
