“Ferry-side stopover”
Reviewed 24 October 2012

This is a well run, comfortable and well positioned hotel very close to the ferry terminal to go to Nantucket or Martha's vineyard. There are nice water and port views from the rooms and for summer a pool is available in a pleasant garden setting. You can walk to the town centre in about 10 minutes where there are lots of restaurants and shops and a Kennedy museum. The hotel can organise ferry bookings for you and you can park your car in the yard of the house opposite the ferry dock for $10 per day. Breakfast is provided at the hotel. For a quick stop-over in Hyannis, this place was just fine.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view across to the harbour, it would be a shame to miss out on this

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend at the end of September. The view from our room was great! Straight ahead was a clear view of the ocean/harbor. Each room had a balcony which was nice, but had no privacy. There should be solid (and taller) walls that seperate each balcony. If our neighbors had been out on theirs too, there would have been NO privacy. Our room was very nice. Completely updated (new tile in bathroom, new paint, new carpet) and VERY clean! It also is centrally located to many restaraunts and main st. Hyannis.

Room Tip: I would choose a room with a view of the water that is straight ahead. There were some rooms on the...

Stayed over Columbus Day weekend to attend a wedding in The Hyannis area. Fantastic hotel and the view from our room( the Hyannis) unbeatable. Staff were friendly, helpful and most anxious to make the stay perfect. Rooms were beautiful as were the commons areas. Breakfast was more than sufficient and always fresh. Would definitely return.

We chose this hotel for the view and after some initial problems with the booking, ended up with a very good one. The location is very convenient if travelling on either of the ferry services to Nantucket. There are several good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. We chose the Black Cat and it was very adequate. The breakfast at the Anchor is better than most complimentary ones we 've had. I would seriously consider it if going to Hyannis.

A fantastic little hotel in a great part of town. Staff are amazing, breakfast was great, rooms are super-clean and lovely, view was great...what's not to like.

Was too cold to use the pool when we were there but looked lovely and would love to go back in the summer to take advantage. Location is great and walking distance to loads of lovely bars and restaurants.

If thinking where to go in Cape Cod, look no further than the Anchor In, its superb.

Room Tip: Any room upstairs to make the most of the harbour view.

We stayed for two nights in the Marston Mills Suite. Wonderful room with integral kitchen and dining area. Large bed, sitting area and dressing/wardrobe room. Great view from the balcony to the harbour area. The only downside would be that the bathroom is on the small side for the size of room (although one appreciates that the nature of the hotel dictates this situation). No place to store or layout one's toiletries.

Staff were very friendly and attentive. Inclusive continental breakfast and afternoon tea with muffins was much appreciated and of a good quality. Didn't use the heated outdoor swimming pool.

Great location for exploring Cape Cod but be aware of numerous early morning flights (6am onwards) from local airport to the Islands.

This review is written as we checked in...so far I am moderately impressed...it is clean...however after booking ahead of time, here we sit on the 1st fl listening to the ny'rs in the room above us who 'found this hotel on a whim' & got a better room than us....apparently because they are 'fully booked'.....here we are in an average room at best. We'll see how they rectify the situation .... To be continued...
